Business Strategy Comparison

Strategic thinking and analysis are best learned through practice. The capstone business cases we will study
concern real-world business situations. These senior-level business cases are designed to provide you with
data on real-life managerial problems, and case analysis is useful as a simulation of actual managerial
activity. To complete this assignment, each group has to choose a pair competitor which are currently
leading their industry in Vietnam such as Red Sun and Golden Gate (restaurant), Aeon and Lotte (Retail),
FPT Shop and Thegioididong (Digital Devices), Galaxy Cinema and CGV (Cinema), PNJ and SJC
(Jewelry), Vietnam Airline and Vietjet Air (Airline industry), etc. to compare their strategies. The
presentation and report should content the following sections:

1. Cover Page
2. Comprehensive Introduction
3. External Analysis: Industry Overview (PESTEL, 5 Forces Model)
4. Backgrounds of each company (Overview, history development, business model, products/services,
customer classification, market segmentation, marketshare, cornerstone, achievements, etc.)
5. Internal Analysis (VRIO, Competitive Advantages, Core Values, SWOT, BCG Matrix, company
performance)
6. Critical incidents that affected each company
7. Comparison of the strategies between two companies
8. Critique: your evaluation on each strategy
9. Suggestions/Recommendations for Future plan(s) of each company
10. Conclusion
11. References
