The role
An experienced talent attraction professional is sought for the role of Global Talent Support
Officer, with the Australian Department of Home Affairs based at the Australian Consulate-
General in San Francisco, California.
This position will work with key stakeholders to identify, attract and facilitate top talent for
streamlined Australian permanent residency. In this role, the Global Talent Support Officer will
identify and execute opportunities to promote Australia to the best and the brightest.
Duties include

Program management
• Build a strong knowledge base of the GTP, the wider Migration Program and Australian
citizenship legislation.
• Develop processes to identify and mitigate risks or conflicts of interest that will affect
individual work or GTP outcomes.

The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy
leadership in relation to domestic and national security arrangements, law enforcement, counter
terrorism, social cohesion, protection of Australia’s sovereignty, the integrity of Australia’s
border and the resilience of national infrastructure. The Department also delivers services
including strengthening the cohesiveness of Australian society through the migration program.
The Department manages and assists temporary and permanent migrants to Australia and
confers Australian citizenship.
Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
• Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in the USA, candidates
must be legally authorised to live and work in the USA at the time of appointment. A2 visa
holders and prospective A2 visa applicants are not eligible for this role.
• Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in
written and spoken English. A proficiency in written and spoken Spanish is preferred.
• Remote working – the successful candidate must have the ability to work remotely with
the option to attend the Australian Consulate-General in San Francisco as needed.
