system?
After reading the Case Study about the Performance Management at Network
Solutions Inc., below are the commonalities that Network Solutions and Criteria for an
Ideal Performance Management System.
a. Network Solution Inc. tackles about the detailed information that their new
Performance Management System will have and this compliments one of the
criteria of having an ideal Performance Management, stated that good system
should provide a concrete and detailed information about how they will be
graded and to be to meet these certain settled expectations.
b. Since Network Solutions has the idea of aligning individual performance
objectives with organizational goals by focusing i=on the employees
development, it is a commonality in Strategic Congruency criteria that the
ideal Performance Management System have, wherein, stated that individual
goals must be aligned with unit and organizational goals.
c. According to the criteria, having a meaningful Performance Management
Standard has something to do with series of ways. One is, Performance
Management System is considered as meaningful is it is important and
relevant. Second, it must emphasize only the functions that are under control
by the employees. Third evaluation evaluations must be take place regularly
and in right moment. Then, system should provide for the continuing skill

As for the missing criteria of Ideal Performance Management System, Network


Solution Inc. doesn’t include the following criteria that can make the Performance
Management System more effective and competitive.

 Context Congruence- Network Solution should have include this


criteria, tackles about aligning their organizational goals to the
culture of the organization.
 Thoroughness- the Incorporation should have put detailed
information about the system and in its four dimensions.
 Practicality- Network Solution did not include the involvement of
money in their Performance System. It is very important to always
consider the money to spent in each management to at least track if
the company or institution get the best quality out of their
monetary investments.
 Identification of effective and ineffective performance- Network
Solution should put more details about targeting the Identification
of effective and ineffectiveness performance of the employees in
the company since productivity is what matters to the employee-
employer relationship the most.
 Reliability- it is a must that each Performance Management
System in the company to have a reliability. This is where the
company can prove that they can provide accurate and only
accurate information.
 Validity- in connection with reliability, validity is always after it.
Validity forms a big part in a matter of trusting the company
administration and management. As long as the higher ranks
provide accurate and valid information, there would be a bigger
possibility that the employee would trust the administration.
 Acceptability and Fairness- Fairness is one of the most abundant
issue that each company in the whole world have. Many
employees experience a lot of inaccurate result just because
unfairness has been hindrance on their performance. Network
Solution should include an assurance to employees that they would
get the fairest treatment during the evaluation in the company to at
least make the employee comfortable to the new system.
 Inclusiveness- the Institution should have good systems that
include input from multiple sources on an ongoing basis.
 Correctability- correctabilty can be not mainly needed in the
Performance Management, but, it also plays a huge part in the
Management System in terms of flexibility. Performance
Management System should be flexible in correcting problems and
issue to at least avoid the same errors in the future,
 Ethicality- holistically, being ethical should always have to be the
top priority in making any decision in the company. Network
Solution should include an ethical standard not only for the sake of
being ethical but also to practice being compliance in respecting
each employee’s privacy.

whether they are part of the system at Network Solutions?

I think, in order for us to be able to know if they are part of the system in Network
Solution Inc. we have to consider prioritizing being practical and thorough. Practicality;
for us to be able to know if the company’s budget is enough for making this Performance
Management System. And Thoroughness to be fully detailed about the information of the
Performance Management System in four dimension of the organization.

will be some advantages and positive outcomes resulting from the implementation of
the system?

Actually, a lot of advantages can be recognized of using this Network


Solutions Inc. new System, but focusing to what is important, it is a very good
investment since the system was standardized and systemized. Employees would
no longer the anxiety of being graded with biased and employers to have proper
guidance to what and what not should be included in grading employees
performance and duty in the company.

As for the disadvantage, the major problem that could exist during the
process of making and while using the Performance Management System of the
Network Solution Inc. is the budget. Network Solution designing team did not
include the monetary plan of the System, the money needed during the process
and the money that the company can possibly pay for maintenance of the system.
Monetary plan should always include in the consideration and always to target the
best quality of product and service in cheapest price.
