Introduction

First, let's start by knowing what they are. Of the English Virtual LAN (Network of local and
virtual area), is a method that allows to create networks that logically are independent,
although these are within a same physical network. In this way, a user could have several
VLANs within the same router or switch. It could be said that each of these networks groups
the teams of a certain network segment. Creating these partitions has clear advantages
when it comes to managing a network.
What types of Vlan are there?
I answered them, Layer 2 VLAN is a single broadcast domain. It works on layer 2 (Datalink
Layer). They can communicate only within it. And L3 VLAN is an Interface, that works on
Network Layer. In order to do inter VLAN routing/ communication we need L3 interface (SVI).

What are the advantages of a VLAN network?

Confinement of broadcast domains on a network significantly reduces traffic.
It solves a broadcast problem.
VLAN reduces the size of broadcast domains.
VLAN allows you to add an additional layer of security.
It can make device management simple and easier.
You can make a logical grouping of devices by function rather than location.
VLANs cannot forward network traffic to each other in interoperability. In VLAN packets are
more likely to leak from one VLAN to another VLAN. More problems have to face in
controlling latency than WAN but less efficient than LAN. VLANs require an additional router
to easily handle workloads in large networks.

What applications in domestic equipment does a VLAN network have?

The main use is for security where you want to isolate certain machines from the main
network. You will need to choose which devices to use to implement your VLAN and the
VLAN mode to use. VLANs are supported on routers (not all) and on network switches.
VLANs provide a number of advantages, such as ease of administration, confinement of
broadcast domains, reduced broadcast traffic, and enforcement of security policies. VLANs
provide the following advantages: VLANs enable logical grouping of end-stations that are
physically dispersed on a network.
Technically, you don't need a router to set up a VLAN, but if you want multiple VLANs to
interact, you're going to need a router. Many modern routers support VLAN functionality in
some form or another. Home routers might not support VLAN or only support it in a limited
capacity
VLANs can be worth setting up in a home network environment to isolate certain devices,
improve network security, and make for a more organized and easier to manage home
network setup. They are relatively easy to setup and only require a network switch that
supports VLAN tagging.
Glossary

Vlan: a method to create independent logical networks within the same physical network.
Interconnectivity: it is linked to communication between two or more networks.
Network: A computer network is also a set of equipment, nodes and software, systems,
media, media, media, systems, media, electromagnetic waves or any other. Medium for the
transport of data, with the purpose of sharing information, resources and offering services.
