This involves preparing for and receiving the material according to defined
company procedures, and taking account of all health and safety requirements. It is
expected to prepare the work area in readiness for the receipt of the materials and this
will include ensuring accessibility for receipt and removal of the materials and ensuring
the area is free from obstructions or potential hazards.
Check that the materials conform to the relevant specification/s, and that
sufficient materials are available for the manufacturing operations being performed.
The safety precautions are required when carrying out the receipt of the incoming
materials, especially those involving the use of lifting or moving equipment.
1. Follow relevant procedures and safety requirements for the receipt of the
materials to include all the following:
health and safety and company procedures/job
environmental regulations instructions
safe working practices
2. Prepare and maintain the work area to include all the following:
accessibility for receipt and correct material layout
removal of materials
freedom of obstruction and
hazards

4. Resolve problems in two of the following areas:
material quantity work area
material quality location of material
delivery time of material
5. Report problems that cannot be solved to the appropriate person to include one of
the ff:
supervisor/manager quality control
team leader
6. Store the received materials and tools in a safe area or store room nearest your
workplace. (store materials, in proper order, bulky and heavier materials at the
bottom lighter and smaller items on top of the pile)
