The chart on the left gives data of the reported coronavirus cases by country while the second one

shows unemployment rates in some continents around the world in 2020.

It is clear that the US was at the top of the list with 8.154.935 cases, showed the most devastating effect
of coronavirus. Overall, there was a rising burden in given OECD countries with more unemployed
workers in May than February.

Looking at the first chart, the US, India and Brazil took up the first three positions as all of three had
more than 5 million cases. India, which registered 7.550.273 cases, grappled with the second-highest
globally with small gap compared to the US. Meanwhile, five remaining countries just surpassed more
than 800 thousand cases and successfully kept the numbers below 1 million.

As for the second chart, European and American countries had not been affected by unemployment
equally. Colombia, Spain, the US and Canada witnessed the highest jobless growth of 8%. Even though
European countries hit hard by the virus, those saw unemployment rise by less than 1%.
