Why are there a lot of inequalities in global cities?
- Inequality can be defined as the unequal distribution of economic resources and
opportunities in a certain society. In short, inequality happens because there is a significant difference between the rich and the poor. Basing from my own opinion, inequalities can always be observed anywhere most especially in globalized cities. I believe that human life is like a pyramid – one wherein there is a hierarchy. The gap between the rich and the poor keeps on expanding as time passes by due to the fact that those who have power, money, and influence are capable of utilizing those without in order to gain more. With this fact, it is relevant to say that the rich becomes richer while the poor become poorer. The unfortunate ones who are at the bottom part of the pyramid are usually exploited by those who are at the top. In conclusion to this, inequality is potentially inevitable yet it can be minimized if the government, together with the society, builds an economy that works for everyone and not just for the upper class.
