Self-Measuring Guide For Kilts

A - Waist Size
Please take your waist measurement around the area
of the navel. Try not to breathe in and tense your
stomach when measuring as this gives an inaccurate
measurement and may result in ordering a kilt that is
too small/large around the waist. Relax and breathe
normally when the tape measure is around your
waist.

B – Seat Size
Please measure the widest part of your hips/seat.
Ensure that there are no bulky items in your pockets.

C - Kilt Length
Measure from the same point on your navel (as the
waist measurement) down to the middle of your knee.
Do not look down at the person measuring you as this
pulls your hips back and leads to inaccurate
measurement - stand straight up and face directly
forward. Alternatively, Kneel down ensuring your
back and thighs are vertical and measure from the
navel to the floor.

D - Chest Size
Measure the broadest part of the chest, keeping the
tape up under the arms. Keep one finger between the
tape and the body.

E – Arm Length
Keeping your arm straight by your side. Measure from
the crown to cuff (Shoulder to Wrist).

F – Collar Size
Measure all around your neck till the tape meets
again. For maximum comfort, place one finger
between neck and tape. Please select your
preference of Black/White shirt and preference of
Black Bow Tie or Coloured Rushe Tie (Choose
Colour).

G – Shoe Size (UK)

Select a comfortable shoe size based on a pair you
already own. Please select your preference of Cream,
Black or Charcoal Socks.
H – Height
If you are unsure of your height then please use a measuring tape and ask someone to measure you standing
straight from head to toe.
Please Note,
House of Argyll accepts no responsibility for orders whereby self-measurements are taken.
