Do you think it is necessary to use the higher criticism when it comes to studying or reading a history

book? Why or why not?

When it comes to learning or reading history, I believe that more critical thinking is required.
Higher criticism, in my opinion, allows you to consider the character of historical sources more closely.
Rather than just understanding and accepting what sources indicate, higher criticism encourages you to
have a healthy skepticism about why a source was created and whether or not you can trust it. It will
also enable us in determining the original meaning, real history, and literal meaning.

As a student, why is it necessary to base upon to the historical sources when it comes to studying
history?

When studying history, it is important to utilize historical sources because they will help the
learner in analyzing past events. It will helps us in gaining a better understanding and historical
knowledge. If we have a foundation, such as a main or secondary source, it will answer our doubts and
help us to understand things better. It will help to clear up any misunderstandings concerning the study
or leanings of history.
