Dear Customer,

We are writing to make you aware of some recent changes introduced by the US and UK national
accreditation bodies.

These changes concern the accreditation logos and symbols, please read this communication
carefully as they may impact on how you use these marks.

ANAB

The US national accreditation body, the ANSI National Accreditation Board (or ANAB for short) has
updated its logo and symbol to reflect recent structural changes within that organisation. In order
to minimise disruption and avoid undue cost and administrative burden ANAB has agreed a period
up to the 31 December 2024 for these changes to be reflected in the marketplace.

What this means for our customers:

Digital and Printed Materials: All materials in these formats must reflect the latest logos and
symbols by 31 December 2024

Certificates of Approval: All ANAB accredited certificates in the marketplace must bear the
new accreditation mark by 31 December 2024

With immediate effect all ANAB-accredited certificates issued by Lloyd’s Register will carry the new
mark. There may be some exceptions to this depending on the stage in the process your pending
certificate has reached. Due to the duration of the transition period, we do not intend to reissue
valid certificates until they reach their natural existing date of reissue, this may be at the start of
the next three year period of approval or due to a change in the approval details, such as changes
to the scope of approval.

UKAS

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) has similarly updated its logo and symbol. UKAS
has agreed a transition period to allow customers to make the required changes without incurring
undue cost or administrative burden and varies depending on how these marks are being used.

What this means for our customers:

Digital materials: All materials in this format shall be revised by 1 February 2022

Printed materials: All materials in this format shall be revised by 1 February 2023

Certificates of Approval: All UKAS accredited certificates in the marketplace must bear the
new accreditation mark by 1 February 2024.

mark. There may be some exceptions to this depending on the stage in the process your pending
certificate has reached. We do not intend to reissue valid certificates until they reach their natural
existing date of reissue, this may be at the start of the next three year period of approval or due to
a change in the approval details, such as changes to the scope of approval. However, we
recognise that some certificates of approval carrying the original mark will exist with an expiry
date post February 2024. In these cases, our local teams will ensure new certificates are issued
prior to the end of the transition period.
