Albo's log
In the “First voyage around the world” Antonio Pigafetta and Albo was friends
and member of magellan’s expediction and witness some important event in
there tour
1. upon March 16, 1521, while sailing through the Ladrones in a westerly
direction, they noticed land from the northwest, which they subsequently
learned was mostly called Yunagan.
3. They sailed away from the two islands and arrived at the island "Gada,"
where they replenished their food and water supplies; Albo didn't state the
latitude of this island, but based on Pigafetta's evidence, it appears to be the
"Acquada" or Homonhon, which is located at 10 degrees North latitude.
4. they came from island direct to westward towards seilani the pigafetta's
ceylon (leyte) just to get and harvest some gold
5. Sailing down the coast of Seilani, they headed southwest to a tiny island
known as "Mazava."
8. as they travelled thru the ten leagues, in which they will spend the night
They approached a canal between two islands, one named "Matan" and the
other "Subu."
9. They sailed down that canal, turned west, and moored in the town of Subu,
where they stayed for several days, procured food, and made a peace treaty
with the local monarch.
10. Subu was located on the east-west axis of the islands Suluan and
Mazava. However, there were so many shallows between Subu and Mazava
that the boat couldn't sail westward directly and had to take a detour.
5.Sunday, 31 May. – While on the peak of the tallest hill, Magellan inquired of
the monarchs/kings about ports with plentiful food supply. They said that Zubu
(Cebu) was the busiest port. Magellan requested that someone lead him, and
the kings answered that pilots would do it. The monarch changed his mind
and chose to guide them once the harvest was finished.
6.Monday, 1 April. – Because the two monarchs were sleeping after their
drinking binge the night before, no labor was done that day, even if Magellan
dispatched men to help with the harvest.
7.Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3 - they work for harvest for two
days in a row
