„ The story
A petrochemical factory is particularly
vulnerable to unexpected power outages.
Because of the complex and slow
process, the proper operation of all
elements handling the power distribution
is crucial. Protection relays play an
important role in the power distribution.
Securing the reliable operation of the
installed relay base was essential.
ABB’s solution to secure the reliable
operation was the new service product,
Preventive Maintenance. As part of the
maintenance work, all components
subject to ageing were exchanged and all
the serviced relays were trip tested in
order to ensure proper operation.
