1. Purpose of Document

 This technical document covers the activity of Hot patch activation and deactivation in the
OMMB for Circles. The purpose of this document is to describe the actions needed for
Activation & Deactivation of Hot patch in OMMB

2. Objective

 The objective of this MOP is to provide the user as to how to perform Hot patch activation and
deactivation in OMMB.

3. Scope
 The scope of this process document is to present the process Hot patch activation and
deactivation in OMMB, which is to be observed by SNOC, for ZTE based circles and
Corporate Team.
 This process is for Vodafone Managed Circles Only.

4. Resources

 NETNUMEN Applications via SRAS.

 BSS Engineer should be technically equipped for OMMB activity.

6. Detailed Step by Step Procedures

 Preparation:
 Totally we need to load 2 hot patch, and these 2 hot patch are based on version:
V4.17.10.20P50
 PLAT: COMMON_HOTPATCH_4.17.10.20P50H01
 LTE: LTE-FDD-SW-4.17.10.20P50.HP.637.1106

 De-activate old hot patch: V4.17.10.20P50.HP.535.0925

 Running version check:

 Before hot patch loading, we need to ensure that the running version of the sites which need
these 2 patch is : V4.17.10.20P50
 Create software query task

 Check the running version of the sites, the running version should be V4.17.10.20P50

 Hot patch version registration:

 Add the 2 hot patch files to the version library on SAA.

 After uploading, we can see the 2 hot patches are in the version package list:

 Hot patch activating:

 Load PLAT patch first: COMMON_HOTPATCH_4.17.10.20P50H01
 Then load LTE patch: LTE-FDD-SW-4.17.10.20P50.HP.637.1106

 Running version check after patch activation:

 Running version should be “COMMON_HOTPATCH_4.17.10.20P50H01” & “LTE-FDD-
SW-4.17.10.20P50.HP.637.1106”

7. Roll Back Plan Step by Step

1. Hot patch de-activating if we need to roll back the hot patch.

We need to delete the LTE patch (activated latest) first, then delete PLAT patch
Delete LTE patch first: LTE-FDD-SW-4.17.10.20P50.HP.637.1106
Then delete PLAT patch: COMMON_HOTPATCH_4.17.10.20P50H01
