HISTORY

La Patasola, in the narrative folklore of Colombia, is a

monstrous woman characterized by having a single leg that
ends in the shape of a hoof. Her appearance is terrifying:
tangled hair, small tigress eyes, large mouth, huge fangs.
According to legend, she is the banshee of an unfaithful
woman who dishonored her husband [2] and she never knew how
to value or love him

fierce vampire species with a great
appetite for human flesh and blood,
capable of attacking and devouring the
flesh or sucking the blood of its victims.
They are common in the folklore of
Colombia, they are similar to the Sayona
of Venezuela, the Tunda of the Colombian
area of ​
the Pacific Ocean, and the
Madremonte of Colombia. They are often
depicted as protectors of nature and
forest animals, and they do not forgive
human beings who dare to enter their
domains to alter or destroy them.

In Colombia, it is said that it has to do with a love betrayal because they say that a beautiful woman was married to a
hard-working peasant who spent her time selling his employer's crops, since the tenant's wife had 3 children. Taking
advantage of the peasant's absences, the boss flirted with the beautiful woman and she was not indifferent to his
compliments and gifts; the neighbors noticed, and one fine day they told their husband everything.

The next morning the farmer decided to pretend he was going out to sell the harvest outside the town but he waited hidden
near the house. At dusk he came in suddenly and found the lovers embraced on the bed. Full of anger, the peasant furiously
drew his machete, threw himself at them and cut off the head of the boss with a single machete. The woman, between surprised
and horrified, wanted to run away but the enraged husband, with a single machete cut off one of her legs, causing her death.

The landlord and the tenant's wife died at almost the same time, the peasant, without thinking twice, set fire to the ranch
where he lived and was arrested. He was sentenced for 2 years, but afterwards, he took his children and they left the region
saddened never to return.

At dusk, Pata's soul alone went to the ranch, jumping with difficulty on one leg, and seeing the fruits of its deception. In
a mixture of regret and fury, she turns from a beautiful woman into an evil and hideous monster that lets out dark screams.

People claim to have seen his soul jumping on one leg, through mountains, ravines and roads, dripping blood and giving
pitiful cries.

She appears to them as a beautiful woman to later bring them and make them fall in love. Then, she takes them into the
darkness of the forest where she transforms into a horrible woman with fiery eyes, a disproportionate mouth and feline
teeth. It lunges at its victim and sucks the blood and crushes the bones with its fangs. And in the middle of a dying cloud,
it disappears with its prey.
