GUIDE QUESTIONS IN THE CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE LESSON PLAN

1. Learning Objectives
a. Are the learning objectives align with the curriculum standards?
b. Are the learning objectives clearly stated?
c. What did the teacher want students to learn?
d. What did the teacher want students to be able to do?

2. Introductory Activity/ Activity


a. What did the teacher do to introduce the topic?
b. Was the teacher able to connect students’ previous knowledge to the topic? How?
c. Are there any existing pre-assessment data available to diagnose what students already
know? What is it?

3. Analysis
a. What are some thought-provoking/ HOTS questions that trigger student attention and
interest?
b. Did the questions lead the students to understand the new concepts to be presented in the
next part of the lesson?

4. Abstraction
a. What did the teacher do to outline the key concepts of the lesson?
b. How did the teacher engage the students to the lesson?
c. What did the teacher do to illustrate the topic in a different way?

5. Application
a. What did the teacher do so that students will be able to apply their new learning?
b. What are some relevant real-life examples, analogies, or situations that can help students
understand the lesson?

6. Assessment
a. What did the teacher do to measure whether or not students are learning?
b. Was the teacher able to achieve the lesson objectives?
c. Revisit the lesson objectives and identify which part of the lesson plan shows that the
learning objectives were attained.
d. Is the assessment objective type, subjective type, or did the teacher require a performance
task?
e. For performance task, did the teacher used an evaluation criteria or rubric?

a. What activities did the teacher use that shows student interaction with other students?
