LESSON AIMS :
- to use varied strategies that students like so they can have a better
learning;
- to consolidate the language of the vocabulary connected to toys and
furniture;
- to develop students’speaking, listening and comprehension skills.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson , the Students will be
able:
 to use the vocabulary related to the topic: furniture objects and toys
 to indicate location using: on, in, under.
TOPIC AREAS: Vocabulary –Communication: The train is on the chair.
David has got a train.
SKILLS: - reading, speaking, writing, listening;
TEACHING AIDS: - Textbook, marker, whiteboard, flashcards, computer,
speakers, coloured pencils, flashcards, song, CD.
METHODS: communication aproach; conversation, explanation, exercise,
songs, brainstorming;

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: - there will be explanation in Romanian;


- the Ss may have difficulties in pronouncing the words correctly.
ASSUMPTION : The Ss may be:

- be noisy when solving the tasks or singing songs;
- be familiar with vocabulary related to the topic;

EVALUATION: - constant observation, verbal appreciation.

Activity 1 – Warm-up:
Aims: 1: to introduce students into the atmosphere of the lesson;
2: to attract students’attention on the topic.

Procedure Interaction Timing Methods


Teacher enters the class, greets the 5’ Conversation
Ss and children say the Good- Whole class
Morning poem. After, checking
attendance. Teacher also, shows T-Ss
them, a video where some toys are S-T
presented and the children remember
the vocabulary specific to the topic.
He/she guess the toy (ball or a car).
e.g. What is this? Teacher elicits the
answer: It a toy car.

Activity 2: Lead in: Presentation and Practice: (Listening, Speaking)


Aims: 1: to raise expectations and trigger response;
2: to talk about the toys: David has got a train;
3. to develop listening skills.

Teacher writes the title of the lesson Frontal 5’
on the board and explains to the Ss

Activity 3: Guided practice:Read and colour: Skills (Listening, Speaking)

Aims: 1: to revise words and patterns from previous lessons (My Toys);
2: to consolidate the vocabulary related to the topic: revising the
furniture objects and location of the toys.

Procedure Interaction Timing Methods


1. Teacher asks the Ss to pay T-Ss 3’ Conversation
attention and shows them a flashcard
in a box and asks where is the toy. Ss-T
She elicits the answer: It’s in the box.
She repeats the activity by puting the Exercise
flashcard on the box and under the
box. This way she reminds the Ss to
revise location.
2. Teacher asks the Ss to solve the Individually 12’
exercises from their auxiliary book.
The Ss are asked to look at the
picture and complete the gaps using
the words from the box. Also they
have to read and circle the right word
that represent the images.(see
annex). e.g. The doll is on the table.
Teacher checks some answers and
asks a student or two to write on the
board a sentence.e.g. The ball is
under the table.
3. Teacher asks the Ss to work in Pair work 5’
pairs and ask their deskmate:e.g.
What’s your favourite toy?It’s a
teddy.

Activity 4: Evaluation /Feedback: (Listening and Speaking)


Aims: 1: to develop fine motor skills;
2: to practise the vocabulary of the topic.

Teacher gives the Ss a worksheet. 10’
They have to follow directions and T-Ss Conversation
colour in the toys from shelf. e.g. S-T
Colour the doll pink. Then, Teacher Exercise
checks some answers. Also she asks
the Ss to read the directions, paying
attention to the accuracy of
pronunciation. Teacher encourages
Ss and gives constructive feedback.

Activity 5: Ending the Lesson: (home assignement): Skills: Speaking;


Listening

Aims: 1: to develop listening;


2: to consolidate the language of the lesson.

Conversation
The Ss are told that they are going to T-Ss 5’
listen a song about toys. Ss watch the Ss-T Song
video and repeat the words they
listen.
