Why are you studying philosophy?

In its demands on intelligent activities, philosophy makes a major contribution to the education
business. Philosophy education includes knowledge of important personalities and innovations within
philosophical tradition, the acquisition of modern approaches and agreed responses to philosophical
questions and the acquisition of the critical, interpretational and assessment skills that are deemed to
be of significant importance within the overall scheme of things.

James Madison University Philosophy graduates may have learned complex texts concerned with
sophisticated argumentation. The system and the material of these readings are also very varied.
Furthermore, a number of written works are part of the tasks of the philosophy student and carefully
composed and considered are planned. Finally, reasoned debate is important for education in
philosophy and philosophy. This verbal exchange can take place as part of the regular courses.

In nearly any effort much of what is taught in philosophy can be used. This is both because philosophy
affects too many subjects and, in particular, because it can use many of its approaches in any area.

Philosophy studying allows us to increase our ability to solve problems, to communicate, to persuade
