Chapter 5: SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

How to write the summary?

- State the purpose of the study

- What are the main problems
- Pick up some on the chapter 3. (Methods, Participants, Statistical Data)
- Summarize the findings.
o Do not include too much numerical data. Just the gist of it.

How to write conclusions?

- Base on the results of the study.

- “The following results are arrived based on the data”
- The most important is conclusion based on the hypothesis.
o Study shows appeared to be significant relationship between x and y.
o In sum, the null hypothesis is rejected in favor of the researcher’s alternative hypothesis
which states that blah blah blah...
- Do not hesitate to be repetitive. Each chapters should stand alone.

How to write recommendations?

- It should have talk on your own.

- Ilagay yung mga pwedeng gawin o na-miss ng researcher.
- There are two types of recommendations:
o Recommendation for practice.
 You may or not may state this one.
o Recommendations for further study.
- How do we recommend?
o Recommendation for practice:
 What can be done in cases you are confronted with the study?
 Address the ones who are in significant of the study.
o It should be doable.
o It should be S.M.A.R.T.
o It should be practical.
 The variable of primary interest (Dependent Variable)
 The variable of secondary interest (Independent Variable)
o Recommendation for further study:
 Should recommend specific topic.
 Could also recommend the same study but different subject/participants.
- Acceptable number of recommendations:
o Five – Three Practical Recommendation and Two Recommendation for further Study or
vice-versa.

Note: When age is not a variable, do not include it in the presentation of the table. Instead, state it on
the population on Chapter 3.
