Guidance on joining Microsoft Teams Exam

This user guide will take you through how to join your online examination using Microsoft Team.

Step 1: Open you email invite for Microsoft Teams meeting and select “Click here to join the
meeting”

Step 2: Click on “Download the Windows App”. (Note: In case you already have a Microsoft
Teams account in your name, and you have logged in there, you can directly “Open your Team
app” by selecting the appropriate tab as seen below and join the meeting).
Step 3: Enter your first and last name and make sure you have turned the video and audio
settings on. Background effects should not be used.

Step 4: Once you are ready, select “Join now”. You are then waiting in the lobby and the
examiner gets notified on the same.
Step 5: Once the examiner admits you in the meeting room you will see a similar screen as below.
The Examiner will then confirm on the Audio and Video quality.
Step 6: Sit in a relaxed posture with hand gestures visible on camera as far as possible while
speaking.

Step 7: You must confirm to the examiner that there are no web browsers, documents, files etc.
open on your desktop. Please be aware of the screen share functionality to share your desktop
on examiner’s request. Full screen functionality may be enabled (if not by default) by selecting
the More Actions function (three dots) and clicking ‘Enter full screen’ from the drop down.

Step 8: Once the examiner has confirmed the end of the exam session, please make sure you select
the red phone icon to end the meeting and leave the meeting room.
Additional Notes:

A. Using screen share functionality after downloading teams application on Windows

• Always select your ‘Destop’ to share your screen as seen in the below screenshots.

It is always recommended to use the latest version of the above browsers (Google Chrome or
Microsoft Edge Chrome) to ensure availabilty of screenshare functionality.
