SYSTEM PRESENTATION

GENERAL

There are three independent hydraulic systems : Green, B !e and Yellow. ln normal operalion, lhe green and
yellow hydrau ¡c syslems are powered by Eng¡ne Dr¡ven Plmps (EDPS), and ihe bLle hydraulic syslem by an
eleciric p!mp. Auxiliary power is provided by an eeclric pump in the yellow syslem A bidireclional Powe¡
TransJer Unil (PfU) enables lhe green sysiem lo be powered by the ye low system or vice veEá, withoul luid
ira nsfer. A R am Air Turbi¡e ( RAT) s provided ¡n ihe blue system for ernergency !se. A hand pump is provlded in
the bellow system for Érgo door manlaloperaiion.

RESERYO/RS

Each hydraul¡c system has iis own reservoir. lt supplies hyd.auic flu¡d lo lhe sysl€m purñps, and ¡s pneumai¡cally
pressuized. The sreen reseruoú is loc¿led in lhe main landing gear bay, the yellow reservoir in the yellow
hydr¿ulic cor¡p¿rlment and lhe blue ¡eseruoir above the blue gro!nd serul@ panel. All ihe reservoirs are llled
l¡om lhe green ground seruice panel.

FIRE SHUT. OFF VALVES

Oñ lhe green and yellow syslems, a fre shul oflva ve is posll¡oned upslream ofthe englne d¡iven pump to

ENGINE DRIVEN PUMPS
The gr€en and yellow sysiems are each press!rzed by a pump drven rcspectlvely by engine 1 and e¡gine 2.
Englne Driveñ Pumps (EDPs) are Located on ihe accessory ge¿rbo¡ of each englne. They are ollhe variable
displacemenl lype Normal syslem operal¡ng pressure is 3000 psi (206 bars).
ELECTRIC PUMPS
The blue syslenr ¡s pressurized by an electr¡c pump. An eleclr¡c pump ¿lgws the yeLlow syslem to be pressur¡zed
'e¡abling grou¡d operatons when the engines are slopped. Normal system operaling pressure is 3000 psi (206

HAND PUMP
The hand pump is used to operale the cargo doors when no eectr¡cal power ¡s available lt is located onthe
yellow ground seryice panel.
