What makes your study unique?

1.Because of the method you’re using

4. Focus. Most of the related studies focus about the experiences of the families who are victims
of social stigma caused by the Covid-19 virus.
5. Our research is unique from other studies because we have different research environment
which may affect the focus, or the view of our topic.

struggles and it can also help the people that are discriminating them to open their eyes and

Tell me more about your study

In the field of health, social stigma refers to the negative correlation that exists between an
individual or group of individuals who have those traits and a particular disease. Because of a
perceived link with a disease, individuals may be labeled, stereotyped, discriminated against,
treated separately, and/or lose citizenship during an epidemic. Patients with the condition, as
well as their parents, families, friends, and cultures, can be adversely affected by such
treatment.

And if they don't have the disease, people who share other traits of this community can be
stigmatized. The current COVID-19 epidemic has resulted in social isolation and discrimination
against individuals of such racial origins, as well as anybody who is suspected of having come
into contact with the virus.

Why semi-structured?

Our study will use semi-structured interviews since we are conducting a qualitative research.
Qualitative research focuses on lived experiences so it will allow us to ask the participants with
open-ended questions and can make them elaborate their answers further for more information
about their involvement on our topic.

Semi-structured interviews featured as the primary data collection method, this offers a
reflective insight into using semi-structured interviews as a method of data collection. The
processes of reflection in, and on, the interview processes are explored, and some of the ethical
dilemmas that emerged during the study are reflected on. The practicalities of conducting semi-
structured interviews are considered with a view to sharing new understandings of the process
and its management.
What are the scopes of your study?

Our study is a broad experience since this pandemic is on-going and lots of people are affected.
The main focus of this study is the experiences of people in terms of social interaction. This
study has a positive and negative impact to us. The positive impact is how a family cope up with
the struggles they are facing. It makes the family's bond and makes the relationship stronger.
The negative impacts are the mental, social and emotional health of an individual. Instances are
depression, anxiety, eating disorders and many more.

We are the ones that create social divisions for our own benefit. This is what stigmatization is all
about. On the interpersonal, intergroup, and global stages, it also establishes barriers that are
impossible to overcome. Many individuals are merely harvested by the negative, whether it's for
their job's essence, their common social standing – family, or as a scapegoat for the injustices
that society has projected on them.
What is important to note from all this is that it represents a complete lack of human capacity to
differentiate between evil and good and the simple human nature of being compassionate and
helpful to others. And if this continues, it will not serve any fruitful reason in the long term,
because we are all humans first, and the connection that we share with our families, faith,
occupation, socio-economic class, and much more comes later

What are the motivations of your study?

Our study motivates people to be responsible on their actions towards people affected with the
virus and to help them be aware of their situation and struggles. In that way we will be able to
educate more people to lessen the stigma going all around the world.

Using an analytical perspective, this delves into examining the way COVID-19–related
stigmatization has unfolded itself against the specific sections of our society and to gain a
holistic understanding of the experiences of stigmatization as experienced by the people after
the outbreak COVID-19 pandemic. An understanding of these would help us understand the
way in which a crisis situation may lead to the segmented organization of the society in terms of
strengthening of

already existing categorizations, as well as emergence of new categorization. In addition, such

an understanding is expected to supplement the government about the potential impediments
that stigma is assumed to be creating in withholding the people's tendency of cause a delay in
getting themselves tested or share their medical condition of being infected with coronavirus
because of the fear of being stigmatized.
Why did you decide to undertake this specific topic? Or research?

We chose this topic as it is very timely and relevant in our society today. The social stigma
surrounding COVID-19 has crossed the line, resulting in abuse and prejudice against people
who have tested positive for the virus.

Why did you decide to undertake this specific topic? Or research?

We chose this topic as it is very timely and relevant in our society today. The social stigma
surrounding COVID-19 has crossed the line, resulting in abuse and prejudice against people
who have tested positive for the virus.

What is the rationale of the study?

According to recent studies, our topic is lived experience of an individual. It's all about coping up
with the social stigma of the discriminated families because of having Covid-19 positive
member. However, there is still a problem in preventing discrimination and other maltreatment.
The undisciplined action of the people should be addressed immediately to lessen the rate of
Covid-19 cases. In line with this, this research is of great importance because we gather facts,
theories, reliable information that we should know before conducting our research. To give or
spread reliable information to people and educate them on the happenings around us.
