MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 13-215-17

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FREE TUITION FEE FOR ALL BARANGAY OFFICIALS
WHO WILL ENROLL AT THE JHCSC BAYOG EXTERNAL STUDIES UNIT AND
PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFORE AND FOR SUCH OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED, by the 13 Sangguniang Bayan of Bayog, Zamboangadel Sur on its 52 Regular
Session held at the Municipal Session Hall on August 14, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.

SECTION I. PURPOSE: To avail the chances and opportunities in achieving college education for all
barangay officials of the Municipality of Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur, the Local Governmentoffers free
tuition for those interested to enroll at JHCSC-Bayog External Studies Unit. Thisis in compliance to
Section 393, paragraph b, sub-section 4 that provides “The punongbarangay,thesangguniang barangay
members, the barangay treasurer and the barangaysecretary shall also be exempted during their
incumbency from paying tuition and matriculation fees for their legitimate dependent children attending
state colleges or universities. He may likewise avail of such educational benefits in a state college or
university located within the province or city to which the barangay belongs;” Likewise, in consonance to
the 10-point agenda launched by the present administration “ LET’S GO SHADES” that promotes
education as among the top priority of the program.

SECTION II. PERSONALITIES TO AVAIL FREE TUITION FEES:

1. Barangay Chairman
2. Barangay Kagawad
3. Barangay Secretary
4. Barangay Treasurer, and to include
5. SK Chairman
6. Barangay Health Worker
7. Barangay Day Care Worker
8. Barangay Nutrition Scholar
9. Barangay Record Keeper (BRK)
10. Legitimate dependent children of the personalities abovementioned

SECTION III. BENEFITS TO AVAIL: Beneficiaries of the scholarship program may avail free tuition and
Matriculation feeswhen enrolled in any course offered in JHCSC BAYOG – External
Studies Unit

SECTION IV. REQUIREMENTS:Prior to become eligible as beneficiaries of the program the following
requirements must be complied and submitted;
a. Enrolment/Admission Requirements from JHCSC BAYOG – ESU.
b. Certificate of Live Birth
c. True copy of the Oath of Office of the parent(s) who is/are among the barangay
official.
d. True copy of the Oath of Office (for incumbent barangay official who wishes to avail
of the educational benefits..

SECTION V. CAUSES FOR DISQUALIFICATION:

a. Failing grades in all subjects in the preceding semester bar the continuance of
availing the scholarship program.
b. Frequent absentism, so as to construed as having no interest in studying..

SECTION 11 - EFFECTIVITY - This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
