● In diverse regions of the world, urbanization is
transforming the landscape of human habitation, with substantial implications for living, environmental, and developmental circumstances. Sustainable urbanization depends mostly on good urban growth management, particularly in low- and lower-middle-income nations, where considerable urbanization is predicted over the next few decades. To enhance and promote ties between urban and rural regions, integrated policies are required to improve the lives of both urban and rural residents.
2. What is the importance of watersheds? What can we do to
protect them?
● Watersheds encompass more than just the drainage basins
in and around our towns. They are vital for the preservation of plant and animal habitats, as well as the provision of drinking water for humans and wildlife. They also give opportunities for outdoor pleasure and enjoyment. Earth is covered in 70% water and unfortunately, 40-50% of our nation's waters are impaired or threatened. "Impaired" means that the water body does not support one or more of its intended uses. This could mean that the water is not suitable to drink, swim in, or consume the fish that was caught there.
