Material
z Required:
1. A round medium sized Balloon( inflated).

2. A bowl of Water

3. Fevicol

4. Paper strips

5. Acrylic paints and brushes

6. A bunch of led lights/ or a battery candle

7. A printout of Physical world map on A4 size sheet .

8. A pair of Scissors
z

Take a medium
sized round
zballoon and
inflate it.
z

Place the balloon on

a bowl or a cup. Cut
the newspaper into
small strips and dip
them in a mixture of
Fevicol and water .
Now cover the whole
balloon with at least
three layers of strips.
z

§ Notice the “tail” of the

balloon is still
visible. You will need
this opening for the
globe to sit over the
candle, so make sure not
to cover the bottom.
z

Let’s paint the base with a

white acrylic paint. Wait for
the paint to dry and mark
the equator , the latitudes
and the prime meridian with
a pencil. Now draw/ paste
the cutouts of the continents
according to their position on
the face of the earth.
z

Paint the continents

with green acrylic
colour.
z

Now paint the water

with blue acrylic
colour to complete
the globe. You may
add a layer of
varnish on top .
z

Once the globe is dry, pop the

balloon with a wooden skewer
or toothpick. Pop near the tail
of the balloon that is still
exposed and not covered in
papier-mâché.
z

§ Insert the battery

operated candle or led
lights inside the globe.
You may gently poke
holes in the globe. The
larger the holes, the
more light the candle will
give off when turned on.
z

You may add a base to make

a table top or thread to hang
your Earth Sculpt lamp.
