Title: Pretend You Don’t See Her

Author: Mary Higgins Clark

Genre: Novel

Main Characters: Lacy Farrell

This story is about The Queen of Suspense returns with another New York Times bestseller
thriller. Mary Higgins Clark's Lacey Farrell is a rising star on the Manhattan real estate sector.
Lacey is witness to a murder while showing a beautiful skyline co-op. The dying widow
believes the assailant was seeking her deceased daughter's journal. Lacey is placed in the
witness protection program and moved to the Minneapolis region, where she must take a false
identity at least until the killer is brought to justice. There, she meets Tom Lynch, a radio talk-
show personality, with whom she hesitantly begins to date—until the pressure of deceit forces
her to call it quits. Then she learns that the assailant has tracked her down to Minneapolis.
Lacey returns to New York, armed only with her own courage and clues from the book,
desperate to find out who is responsible for the killings of the two ladies before she becomes
the next fatality.
What happens when a young lady becomes inadvertently involved in a serious murder case
because she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Lacey Farrell, a rising star on the
Manhattan real estate industry, witnesses a murder - and the victim's dying words. The dying
widow believes her assailant was for her deceased daughter's journal, which Lacey takes to
the cops after making a copy for herself. It's an inclination that turns out to be virtually lethal
later on. Lacey is placed in the witness protection program and moved to Minneapolis, where
she must take a false identity at least until the killer is brought to justice.
There, she meets Tom Lynch, a radio talk-show personality with whom she hesitantly
begins to date - until the pressure of her lie forces her to end the relationship. Then she
realizes that the murderer has tracked her down. Lacey returns to New York, armed only with
her own courage and clues from the book, determined to find out who is responsible for the
killings of the two women...before she becomes the next fatality.
In my opinion the best part of the book is When real estate agent, Lacey, witnesses the
murder of a woman she is selling a house for, she is in danger. Not only that, the dying
woman tasked Lacey with giving her daughter’s journal to her daughter’s father. Her daughter
was killed in a car crash a few months previous. However, the journal is now evidence.
