Jack and Beanstalk

Jack took the family cow to sell and traded it for magic beans.
His mother was angry and threw them out of the window.

The next morning a giant beanstalk had grown.

He climbed the beanstalk and found a giant there who had gold
coins.

Jack stole them and took them home.

Later, Jack returned and saw a hen that laid golden eggs and he
stole that, too.

The third time he tried to steal a magic harp and the harp cried
out.

The giant chased Jack down the beanstalk, Jack chopped it down
and the giant died.

The different perspectives Jack and the bean stalk can be seen from:
 The Giant
 Jack
 The Cow
 Jack’s Mother

The Cow

The cow would have started off with Jack and his mother on farm. He would have been taken by Jack
to the nearest market and would have been sold to someone there for the magic beans. Then later
in the day he would see the beanstalk fly up into sky. Each day he would see Jack climb up the
beanstalk until the one day he sees the Giant and Jack coming down the beanstalk until the
beanstalk falls.

Jack’s Mother

Jack’s Mother wondering where her cow is and then she asks her son. She finds out that Jack has
traded them for magic beans, and she chucks them out the window. The next morning, she looks out
the window and there is a giant beanstalk next to her house. She is in disbelief. Later in the day she
can’t find her son, but he only returns at night. Again, the next day her son is gone for the day but
returns in the day. Then she hears Jack running down the beanstalk and The Giant following him, but
Jack cuts off the beanstalk and The Giant is killed.

Genre: Drama

I think this genre will be suitable for this fairly tale because it is a dramatic storyline that has a lot of
action involved and there is drama between a range of characters.
