    The Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the

    United States of America Regarding the Treatment of United States Armed Forces Visiting the
    Philippines was signed on February 10, 1998. The purpose of this agreement is to reaffirming the faith of
    the Philippines and the United States in the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nation.
    Also, it was their desire to strengthen international and regional security in the Pacific area and
    Reaffirmed their obligations under the Mutual Defense Treaty.
