5. Letter D
6. The author means that the poor cannot end just like Fungi that is very hard to
erase. Catastrophe increases the number of poor people.
The author uses the word Morph to show the intensity by which poor people
increase following a catastrophe and compares that to how fast fungi grow.
In conclusion the authors says that wiping poverty is impossible. The author says
that the poor do not die, which does not mean literally dying but wiping out.
7. Yes! I notice some humor dialogue in the story
8. The tone in literature is very important as it will help the writer to convey the
meaning of the story. Through tone, the attitude, mood, and meaning of the story
change, this means that a more serious tone has something to do with the
meaning of the story, as it will make the story more dramatic and tragic. So, if a
more serious tone has been used, it will change the meaning of the story as it will
no longer depict how Filipinos are resilient when facing adversity.

9. I think the use of Kapampangan Dialogue in the essay enriches the story as it
enhanced the reality being crafted in the story. And I think that the incorporation
of the Kapampangan language in the dialogues makes the readers experience
how the story would be told in the author’s native dialect. I think that the author
includes his native language in his works to preserve and present the uniqueness
of his origins.

Back to reality
1. I remember way back 2013, bagyong yolanda hits tacloban where my family live
it’s like a nightmare to all people who lives in tacloban. We experienced that kind
of disaster and every time we think about that past we suddenly back to the days
when Yolanda hits our house. I have difficulty managing our feelings after major
traumatic events happened like bagyong Yolanda, our place is one of the most
affected by this typhoon. The things that I do to cope with this situation is I
always spend time with friends and family because they can help you through
this tough time. If your family lives outside the area, stay in touch by phone
encourage them to share their concerns and feelings about the disaster with you.
And also I reduce watching or reading news about the event over and over again
because it will only increase your stress. Think positive to reduce stress.
2. Yes! There is a situation as devastating as Mount Pinatubo and that is Typoon.
We can prepare this kind of situation like the following:
 Get to high ground: Don’t make the mistake of leaving your home or office
building. The best thing to do is to stay put and get to higher ground or an established
community center if you still have time.
 Water filter: Keep a water filter in your emergency kit. Though there may be
water all around you, when flooding occurs, it’s often contaminated. A trusted water filter
can ensure you create clean water while you wait for rescue or make your way to a safe
area.
 Flashlight: One the first things to go in the event of a flood is power; having a
flashlight will help you navigate the dark and signal for help. Make sure your
flashlight is waterproof;
 Life jackets: If you or one of your loved ones gets swept away by a raging river,
a life jacket could prevent drowning. The has been designed to provide flotation
abilities, and can be used as a flotation device in the event of a flooding
emergency.
 Glow sticks: A great way to test the depths of water is to crack a glow stick and
drop it in.
 And there are more ways on how to be prepare just don’t forget to pray and be
ready and alert all the time.

The lesson that I learned about the devastation of MT Pinatubo in Pampanga is that
Filipinos are very resilient and Filipinos will never give up to all the disaster or
problems we encounter. Whatever disaster that we encounter we tend to rise and
continue our lives. In this kind of situation we can see that we Filipinos, willing to
help each other we called it bayanihan. The smile on our lips will not be lost no
matter what trial comes
Style and gives your writing a type of personality when coupled together with tone. As
with the audience and format, it's important that the style you choose matches with the
intended purpose of your message. Similar in some ways to style, tone refers to the
feeling your audience will get when they decode your document.
