Drawing Name
Drawing Name must comply with the file naming convention. For example, files shall
have a naming format for drawing BA-123456, sheet 001, revision 01 or 01A as
follows:
5.1 Vector Drawings
Prefix + Number + Sheet +V + Revision
Example: B123456001V01 or B123456001V01A

The Drawing Index is a single character in the range of A to Z (DWG TYPE)

For scaled drawings, use the auto-dimensioning command where
applicable and don't drop it.

The setting of all Saudi Aramco border files are set at (Global Origin)
GO=0, 0. This ‘GO’ is defined at the left bottom corner of the border.
No changes are allowed in the GO setting for all drawing types
including scaled drawings.

The letters “O” and “I” shall not be used for identification symbols on the
drawings, as they are often confused with Zero and One.

Text on drawings shall always be uppercase.

• Nothing shall be placed outside the drawing border.

Drafting Process

Drafting Team should adhere to the Saudi Aramco Standards

• Standards to be maintained in References Window (Microstation):

• View Setting Standards :

View 1 and View 5 must be set for every drawing,

As per the following settings :

a) View 1 :
1. Zoomed to Title block
2. View Attributes - Data field “Turned ON”

b) View 5 :
1. Maximized View
2. View Attributes - Data field “Turned OFF”

Finally you need to save the settings by hitting (Ctrl+F) on the keyboard

12.2.5 Do not drop or change Standard Cells. In case it is necessary to
add or
modify cells, a prior approval is required from EK&RD.

12.2.6 All elements in schematic type drawings (non-scale) must be

placed
with grid/unit lock set to ON position.

12.2.7 File design to display the drawing such as that view 1 (maximized)
showing the title block with data fields turned on position. View 5

(maximized) showing the entire drawing with data fields turned off
position.

12.2.8 Remove all contents outside drawing border.

STD006 must be used for “Drawing Subtitle”

Pay attention to arrange the text in a prober and organized way

5. Subtitle “Section”:

• STD007 must be used for “Section” Subtitle.

• If the section and the plan are not located on the same sheet, please use the
drawing and sheet number that refers to the drawing where the plan (with section
line) is located.

6. Subtitle “Detail”:

• STD008 must be used for “Detail” Subtitle.

7. Section Line Reference :

• Must use STD001 and STD002 only on one side of the section line other side
should remain a small arrow

8. Scale bar:

• Must use “SCALE” available in Aramco Library.

• Select the Standard Scale bar as per the Actual drawing “SCALE”.

Border File Settings and References :

1. Border File Name should be matching with the border name in AutoSACS

If the name in References and in AutoSACS Data entry window is same then we can
confirm that it is the correct Border file. Below image is just for representation

2. Border Scale should match the scale of the drawing in both TB and AutoSACS.

3. Border Offset need to be set to the origin (X = 0.000, Y= 0.000 )

3. All extra links in the References Window must be removed..

The only link should be in this window is the Border link, the rest need to be
deleted or detached.

How to name a file as per Aramco Standards :

• Drawing Number inside the TB looks like this : BE-123456

The second letter refers to the Sheet Size,

No need to mention the Sheet size when naming the file

• Sheet Number always to be written like this : 00X

• The different types of documents are: V - P - X - W
