The idea of bhaav is to spread awareness about the right kind of diet
SPECIALLY FOR STREET DOGS and we have a vision that no dog eats nothing that
which is not needed or beneficial for them.
What is BhAv?
Bhaav is a dog food product which literally drives from dogs bark bhaav which is
cheap at price but high on nutrients including all 5 basic nutrients which are
essential for health and growth of a dog, i.e. proteins Fats carbohydrates minerals
and vitamins.
Story behind bhaav
One fine evening Vinayak one of us was as usually chilling with his homies, his
friend buying something from shop
What is it made up of?
While any dog food at Bhaav we ensure that anything that the dog haves all the
nutrients he needs for his health and growth
Vegetable derivatives
This describes ingredients that come from plants. They are a good source of protein, and at
the right levels, they can provide benefits for dogs. E.g. sugar beet pulp is known to assist a
dog's digestive system in working effectively.
Cereals
Cereals such as wheat, corn and rice are a good source of carbohydrates. These offer your
dog the energy as well as the fibre it requires for smooth functioning of its digestive tract.
Bhaav® products include vegetable derivatives and cereals to optimise the transit time of
food through the gut thus allowing for the necessary absorption of nutrients.
Salt
Salt is present in our products to ensure the essential nutrients like sodium and chloride are
present at the required levels. Salt is not a flavour enhancer for dogs and is not added to
increase palatability. Scientific studies show there is no link between high salt intake and
high blood pressure or kidney disease in healthy dogs. All pet foods have salt as per
nutritional recommendations from nutritional authorities like NRC or AAFCO.
Additives/Preservatives
Some dogs enjoy our dog food so much that they will only eat our dog food and refuse other
brands. This has led to myths that our pet-foods must contain addictive substances, such as
caffeine. This is untrue. Like with human foods, the use of preservatives in pet food is
strictly regulated and authorised on the grounds of safety, technical need and efficacy. The
authorisation process is rigorous and dog food preservatives are regularly reviewed to
ensure safety.
The preservatives may be used to protect the nutritional value and goodness of a product
or to enhance its nutritional profile.
Vitamins C and E
We add biological antioxidants e.g. vitamins C and E to pet foods to help promote good
health and combat free radical damage to the body.
How is it made
Making dog food is a stop of sophisticated nutritional science.
It’s about proteins carbohydrates vitamins minerals a well-balanced diet that’s
why dogs who eat Bhav are healthier than their owners.
The formula for bhav
First of all corn kernels and cereal such has Barley wheat and rice are
cleaned so that any foreign substances which are not needed will be
removed
Our workers then grind the tge ingredients in a mill then combine
everything in a mixer
Then we have well mixed powdered flower
A machine called extruder transforms the Powder into bite size pieces of
PET food.
The pet food mixture is steam cooked
Now the mixture is forced into the dice.Dice shape it.
Has the continuous mixture is forced out of a spinning knife cuts it into
pieces
We use round pieces
Then these are dried for 25 minutes in hot air dryer which is of 149 degree
Celsius to dry out the moisture then cools them at room temperature.
Once the pieces are dried they are packed into different size of packages
varying from 100g to 3 kg.
At last it is shifted to the local shops and now they are ready to served to
your pet.
BUSSINESS PLAN
1) Survey
We went to local pan and kirana shops to do surveys in Mahim east
area. Where we found on an average 4 people comes to their shops to
buy milk or biscuit for local street dogs. There are around 200 small
Pan/kirana shops near Mahim dargah area where we did the survey
The demand goes for such small area is 1000 100gram packages per day
Without even the product to come in existence.
The demand can be increase with spreading awarness
2) Spreading awarness.
Spreading awarness is important because people will know about the
