GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
1. The Departmental Examinations will be held in Objective Type Computer Based Test (CBT) and Descriptive type on various days as indicated
against the tests above, in respect of Departmental Examinations for which there is a combination of both CBT and Descriptive type exam, and
hence the candidates have to appear separately on both days as mentioned above. The time of commencement of examination in the Forenoon
and Afternoon sessions and the corresponding REPORTING TIME along with the GRACE TIME up to which the candidates will be allowed to
enter the examination venue have been mentioned in the tabular column below:-

2. All the candidates shall be present inside the examination venue before the reporting time mentioned above. No candidate will be allowed to
enter into the examination hall after the grace time as mentioned above.
3. No candidates will be allowed to leave the examination hall until the closure of the examination.

4. Candidates should bring the Memorandum of Admission (Hall Ticket) on each day of the examination to the examination hall without fail.
5. The candidates are required to appear and obtain minimum pass marks in both types of examination for declaring them as passed in respect of
Departmental Tests, where combination of Objective and Descriptive type of examinations has been prescribed.

6. For CBT examinations, candidates are instructed to read the instructions to candidates available on the computer screen. In order to familiarize
with the method of answering the questions in CBT, a mock test is made available in the Commission's website. The candidates are instructed
to use the mock test link and get themselves familiar in the process of answering the questions in Objective Type Computer Based Test.

7. For Descriptive Type examination, the candidates will be supplied with descriptive answer booklet with preprinted personalized bar coding sheet
attached to it containing self-description of the candidate like Photo, Name, Register Number, Test Code No. / Name of the Departmental Test,
Date of the Examination, Venue of the Examination etc. The candidates are instructed to read the instructions to candidates (Part-A) printed on
the reverse side of the above said personalized bar coding sheet of the Descriptive answer booklet.
8. Candidates are allowed to write the Descriptive type of examination in ink or ball point pen (only blue or black or blue black).

9. The Memorandum of Admission/Hall Ticket should be retained by the candidates for making necessary entries in their Service Register after
declaration of results. The Memorandum of Admission should not be handed over to the invigilators on any account. The request for issue of
duplicate Hall Ticket will not be entertained.

10. If any error is noticed in the name of the candidate, the candidate should intimate the same to the Commission for early rectification before the
publication of results in the TNPSC e-Bulletin.

11. The candidates are permitted to use simple calculators at the examination hall only for writing the descriptive type of examination.

12. The candidates are not allowed to bring Mobile / Cellular phone and Electronic Watches / Memory Notes etc., or any other electronic device or
recording device either as separate piece or part of something used by the candidate to the examination hall. The Commission reserves the
right to frisk the candidates if necessary. If anyone is found in possession of such things / articles inside the examination room, his / her
answer sheet is liable to be invalidated.
13. If the photograph of the candidate is not printed or not clear in the hall ticket, he/she should paste his/her photograph on a paper, mention
his/her details (viz., Register Number, Name, Address and the test for which he/she is appearing), give an undertaking to the effect that “he/she
is a genuine candidate and is aware that he/she is liable for criminal / penal action by the Commission, if impersonation is detected or if the
information furnished by him/her is found to be incorrect on a future date”, affix his/her signature and get it attested from the Head of Office or
Government Officer belonging to Group A or B who knows him/her personally. This should be handed over to the Chief Invigilator.

www.tnpsc.gov.in.

15. Candidates must bring Aadhaar card mandatorily, to the examination venue.

MANDATORY INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED BY CANDIDATES APPEARING FOR DEPARRTMENTAL EXAMINATIONS IN VIEW OF COVID-19
PANDEMIC:

1. Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination venue only if they wear masks.
2. The masks should be worn at all times inside the examination venue. Candidates, however, will have to remove the mask for verification of
identity, whenever required by the authorities concerned.
3. Candidates shall maintain minimum of 6 feet distance, while queuing up for entry and inside the venue as far as feasible.
4. Sharing of personal belongings / stationery shall not be allowed.
5. Candidates may carry their own hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle.
. Candidates should follow all the COVID-19 norms including that of social distancing, personal hygiene inside the exam hall / room as well as
in the premises of the venue.
