LESSON PROPER

ACTIVITY:
Our activity is called ORGANIZING THOUGHTS. Write an essay using the topic.

“Education has changed over the years.”

There have been a lot of changes in Education. Its rapid change

depends on the increased necessity of today's world. Thus, no uniformity
approach will settle to the education system. There always have changes to
meet the varying student needs and the society.

We had experienced the traditional curriculum in which students were

viewed as "vessels to be filled" with teacher's knowledge. The scope of this
action extends only to conventional literacy—including basic learning skills
such as reading and writing. Currently, the education system provides
opportunities for successful courses of action. They integrate inter-
disciplinary curriculum units that allow students to learn from a variety of
sources. Additionally, using a variety of teaching strategies to adapt teaching
to different student characteristics, varying levels of ability, skills, and cultural
backgrounds.

APPLICATION:

Eight Critical Attributes of 21st -Century Education

 Integrated and Interdisciplinary

Our professor required us to articulate certain activities that are suitable for
macro skills. In our discussion, he links his subject to instructional materials—
one of our courses, which works very well to achieve the learning objectives
of his subject. Across the different disciplines, it enhances our learning
experiences and greater creativity.

 Technologies and Multimedia

Our teacher enables us to use PowerPoint presentations as an innovative tool
for our reporting. He encouraged us to learn more regards digital literacy as it
is needed to live, learn, and work in a society. Therefore, it's essential to use it
as communication and access to information are increasingly through it.

 Global Classroom
We had a classroom reporting regards to the news-breaking global
issues/concern. Our teacher encouraged us to respond within and to work in a
collaborative and cooperative group setting. Each group provides facts,
opinions and examines controversial topics. Throughout, we are exposed to
global issues and concerns that will challenge us to take action as part of our
roles as global citizens.

 Creating/Adapting to Constant Personal and Social Change, and

Lifelong-learning
In our previous discussion regards to literary works of enhancing Filipino
cultures and language, our teacher encourages us to use it as motivation to
defend our nation from international influences. As we are pursuing to
become a Filipino teacher, it makes sense for us to adapt those traits to
create social change within society.

 Student-Centered
Our professor in one of our major subjects’ support and facilitate us to deliver
a practice of demo-teaching through online class. It helps us to gain own
discovery process of knowledge, skills, learn with one another, and embrace a
more collaborative role in our own learning.

 21st Century Skills

We had a group project in General Education, in which we had to create a
video presentation of different theory regards Human Development and
provide specific examples of it. Throughout, it develops our communication,
collaboration, creativity, innovation and ICT literary skills.
 Project-based and Research-driven
One of our major subjects required us to select one theory regards on how to
enhance the chosen macro skills of our group. We had to provide certain
activity to strengthen the chosen theory. Afterwards, we have to do research,
to provide evidence based—look on effectiveness of our specific activity to
our future students. As a result, it encourages us to have a deeper
understanding of content which develops critical thinking and develop an
original project on a topic related to career interests.

 Relevant, Rigorous, and Real-world

Our teacher provided scenarios of real-world problems, such as pollution,
global warming, drug addiction, and corruption. She required us to work in a
collaborative and cooperative group setting; Each group had to provide a way
to solve the given problem. These kinds of teaching and learning activities are
inherently engaging since they tend to be meaningful and applicable to
students' lives.
