Intro:

Food safety practices are associated with different factors and these include food safety
training, supervision by health professionals, routine medical checkup, and level of knowledge, and
marital status. Food handlers that have undergone food safety training have better food safety practices
that those who haven’t. Also, those who are being supervised by health professionals, having routine
medical check-ups, and have higher level of knowledge also have better food safety practice as
compared to those who are non-supervised, not having routine check-ups and those who have lower
level of knowledge. Marital status is also associated with food safety practices, single food handlers had
lower probability of good food safety practices compared with divorced handlers.

Gap:

The research has presented different factors that are associated with food safety practices and
was able to justify how these factors are associated to it except for one factor which is marital status.
This research was not able to explain how marital status is associated to food safety practices of a food
handler.
