Foreword

Deep gratitude we convey to the presence of God which has blessed us and we can finish our
scientific paper well .
In this scientific paper we discuss about “ Banana Peel As Alternative of Making Jam “ In this
time so many peoples
Dont realize about the useful thing of banana peel , we here try to find the useful thing of banana
peel and finally
We find the useful thing of banana peel , that is banana peel as one of ingridients in making jam .

This scientific paper is written with hoping can make peoples know about the useful thing of
banana peel . So they
Will not just throw banana peel that can make the polution too in this earth . In other word , using
the banana peel
In making jam , it also decreases the land pollution in this earth . And this scientific paper is made
also with hoping to
Make peoples in Indonesia can think critically in using anything for their activity .

This scientific paper is written based on research and search from various sources . Hope this
scientific paper can
Be useful in the society in the future .

We know and we realize that this scientific paper is far of the perfect , therefore if there are some
mistakes we’re
Sorry . We also expect criticsm and advice to make this scientific paper becomes better and can be
useful in the
society in the future . For the attention we say thank you .
Chapter I
Preliminary

Background
Almost all of peoples know about banana . This plant is natural vegetation that occupies almost in
all area
In the earth . Banana is not just liked by its sweet and delicious taste but moreover also this plant
has many
Function and benefit . We try to find the function and benefit of banana , then we think about the
banana
Peel . We think that banana peel is just thrown by peoples in usual and it just makes increasing of
number
In land pollution in the earth . We finally think about using banana peel as alternative of making
jam . By
Using banana peel as alternative of making jam , it decreases the land pollution in the earth . By
knowing
This scientific paper we hope peoples will realize about the function of banana peel and they will
not just
Throw the banana peel anywhere that can make land pollution in the earth and compromise the
saftey of
people because it is very smooth , it can make peoples slip then fall down . And by knowing this
scientific
paper we hope peoples will think critically in using very simple thing or even the thing which
peoples think
that the thing is just the trash , like banana peel .
Formulation Problem
This time our environment becomes worse because the pollution in this earth .It is also caused by
pollution

Land . The impact is not just give effect on environment but also give effect on all of living
creatures in this

Earth . Land pollution is caused by people’s behaviour ,peoples as usual throw the thrash
anywhere ( inclu-

ding banana peel ) , in addition , banana pee that is thrown not in its place can make people’s
safety in the

compromise , banana peel can make peoples slip and fall down . This scientific paper is shown to
make the

society knows and realizes about something like that . And we hope with using banana peel as
alternative

of making jam , it can decrease the land pollution and make peoples think critically about the very
simple

thing , just like banana peel that can be useful .

Boundary Problem
This scientific paper is too emphasized in using peel as alternative of making jam .

Purpose of Writing
To introduce the people about using the banana peel as alternative of making jam and to persuade
society

To think critically about the very simple thing or even the thing that’s looked like the thrash but
can be very

Useful .

Benefit of Writing

- Can be object in society to use banana peel as alternative of making jam which can be used
in making a product of jam .
- Giving solution in handing and using a very simple thing , like banana .
- Can give the information to the society that using banana peel as alternative of making jam
can decrease the land pollution in the earth and can make safety of peoples become safer
because peoples know information about the dangerous throw banana peel not in its place .
- Can make people think critically about something very simple , in other word can make
people becomes more creative and inovative .

Jam in which they found pieces of fruit in a variety of sizes referred to preserve or conserves ,
while jam is made from the juice and rind of Citrus genus called marmalade .

Contained pectin fruits or fruit juice reacts with the sugar and acid to make jam becomes thick .
Fruits with pectin levels or low acidity needs to be added in order to jam pectin or acid can be
condensed .

Fruit jam is usually used as a fruit is ripe , but not overly ripe and has a slightly sour taste .

guava , nutmeg , and ceremai . Peanut butter is the Indonesian term for peanut butter made from
finely ground peanuts mixed with butter or margarine . Now has been invented jam which is made
from banana peel .

Banana
A banana is an edible fruit produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering plants of the
genus Musa. (In some countries, bananas used for cooking may be called plantains.) The fruit is
variable in size, color and firmness, but is usually elongated and curved, with soft flesh rich in
starch covered with a rind which may be green, yellow, red, purple, or brown when ripe. The fruits
grow in clusters hanging from the top of the plant. Almost all modern edible parthenocarpic
(seedless) bananas come from two wild species – Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana. The
scientific names of most cultivated bananas are Musa acuminata, Musa balbisiana, and Musa ×
paradisiaca for the hybrid Musa acuminata × M. balbisiana, depending on their genomic
constitution. The old scientific name Musa sapientum is no longer used.

Musa species are native to tropical South and Southeast Asia, and are likely to have been first
domesticated in Papua New Guinea. They are grown in at least 107 countries, primarily for their
fruit, and to a lesser extent to make fiber, banana wine and as ornamental plants. In 2013 bananas
were fourth among the main world food crops (after rice, wheat, and maize) in financial value.

Worldwide, there is no sharp distinction between "bananas" and "plantains". Especially in the
Americas and Europe, "banana" usually refers to soft, sweet, dessert bananas, particularly those of
the Cavendish group, which are the main exports from banana-growing countries. By contrast,
Musa cultivars with firmer, starchier fruit are called "plantains". In other regions, such as
Southeast Asia, many more kinds of banana are grown and eaten, so the simple two-fold
distinction is not useful and is not made in local languages.

The term "banana" is also used as the common name for the plants which produce the fruit. This
can extend to other members of the genus Musa like the scarlet banana (Musa coccinea), pink
banana (Musa velutina) and the Fe'i bananas. It can also refer to members of the genus Ensete, like
the snow banana (Ensete glaucum) and the economically important false banana (Ensete
ventricosum). Both genera are classified under the banana family, Musaceae.
