Managing Emotions
The following are questions that will help you see how well you manage your emotions. Write your
honest answers on the space provided:
1. Cite at least three experiences that were brought about by your feelings of anger, grief, love, jealousy,
guilt, or fear.
- Jealousy is one of my experiences that I cannot handle much better and easy way to be calm. There's a
friend of my that I was with growing up since grade one up to 1st year college. She's like my sister in a
way we dress, we talk and even riding with our emotions and most of all the love that we've been
sharing all along. My best friend use to be with me in times of sharing thought, problems, happiness but
since she got to know some new friends of her's she was not been able to share what she was been
doing, generally I'm not well informed of her status and she's now enjoying some stuffs with other
friends of her and not me at all. Second experience is love. I do believe that everyone of us was able to
feel the love that is different in a way that we love our parents or family. I have a boy friend or Kaibigang
lalaki, we met in our element days and we've been classmates for years, we fight a lot like a normal kids,
we hate each other up until in our high school days. He hates me maybe because I used to be a boyish
style. And I hate him also in a way that his a bad boy, mga sigang mag aaral ika nga nila. And then there
was a time that I used to know him better, the good side of him and Little by little he was show casing
his feelings towards me and I cannot stop Hiding my feeling towards him as well. 1 year later We've
been doing good, ( fast forward) time comes that he changed constantly In way he approached, he
communicate with me. After a couple of months I decided to just let go and overcome the pain by my
own since he was no longer Carrie's about me. It breaks me so much and it hurts a lot. Third is fear, It's
been my greatest fear to lost my grand father, his one of my closet grand father among all of my
grandpa. His one of my inspiration to continue study in able for me to someday achieve all my dreams.
And sadly he past away last week October 6 2021 he was killed by the unknown gunman. My grandpa is
that captain in Salumay district Davao city his one of the Datu's of our tribe Matigsalug. And he was once
tried to be killed by one of the NPA's assets. And the time I heard the news I collapse and It's hard to
understand nor to believe that he was gone. This fear once swallow me, and it happened once again.
2. How did you overcome these difficult experiences?
- I overcome this difficult experiences in believeing what the bible Says in Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the
LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be
dismayed.” In every situation I experienced I alwys surrender everything to the Lord and it's my way of
dealing all my struggles and Base on my experiences as well it's supper dupper effective. I do believe
that God is alwys with me if I will just seek him in my prayers, reading the bible cause the bible Will
alwys help me understands more about what life really is and what are the purpose why The Lord let
this struggles occur. And also in letting my friends my parents to know about what I'm struggling with for
them to help me to pray for me and also to help my feelings be calm. And I mostly going out in my
grandma's farm and for me to relax and have time with my self with the fresh and cold air.
3. Do you agree that love, despite being a positive emotion, can also cause problems? Describe an
experience which can justify your answer.

- yes, because sometimes when we are in a good mood or in positive emotion we can create a decision
without thinking the possibilities, we can create things that can destroy our future and didn't even mind
it because we just going with the flow through our emotions l. I will share a little experience of mine
abiding my emotions. I was being Inlove with a boy and because I was so inll love on him I can do
whatever he wanted and I can go wherever he take me. We both love each other and that's why every
decision we made we can do it without thinking the possibilities that decision might destroy our
relationship. Can you imagine we both love each other and do things in secret because our parents
didn't allowed us to go on a relationship like that as so you know parents are concerned about our
future but because of our love, because of our emotion we broke their rule. And time came that our
parents knew it and they stopped us even seeing each other is not allowed, chatting each other in social
media is not allowed even riding a motor cycle with him is not allowed. And that's because we didn't
think the possibilities, we didn't put in mind the rules of our parents and most of that we are just going
with the flow by our positive emotion. Now the man I love and the man was prayed for was gone and I
can't have him anymore because their is another girl he's courting. And all I can say being in a positive
emotion can also cause problem not just it cause problem it can also destroy our dreamed future and
life goals. And I thank you.

Evaluation/Assessment: Learning Portfolio

1. Write your philosophy of life by considering the following points and share your output with
someone close to you:
Goal in life
- We all know that as student we have a common goals. Mine was to finish Homework Early Each Week.
The goal of finishing homework early helps me back in highschool learn to be proactive and schedule
their time in advance. Being proactive can help everyone learn to plan for the unexpected and avoid
unnecessary stress. While the goal does relate to education, it is a personal goal because it is not an
expectation or requirement from the teacher. My overall goal was to will finish homework early each
week. And my Measurement was Homework turned in at least one day before the due date every week
for one month. And by this it helps me not to be that stressful college students and be more organized
in my things because I don't like mess.

Dedicate One Hour Per Week to Career Development. Setting aside time to focus on your career is
invaluable. The time allotment might increase depending on your year (meaning seniors might spend
two to three hours per week leading up to graduation); however, it’s beneficial no matter what. Start by
researching potential careers that align with your major, going to a professor’s office hour, or making an
appointment with the career center. While one hour per week is a small commitment, these consistent
steps will help you guide your decision making and gain valuable insights for landing a post-grad job. But
due to our situation right now it hard to do things like this instead I will do it by virtual. Using social
media, YouTube and everything that can help me to improve my skills aline in my career.

Speak Up More in Class. Speaking up more during class helps me build self-confidence and recognize the
value in sharing appropriate information with my classmates. In this it can help me to be who I am, find
friends and help one another. Also speaking up more in class can help us to exercise our voices, to be
more socialize because it's aline with our career/job. I will look for opportunities to speak in front of the
class to gain self-confidence and help my classmates learn. I will raise my hand more when the teacher
asks for answers from the class. By the end of the week, I will have raised my hand at least five times to
answer questions. But I don't know if I can really do it. Relevant, I will gain more confidence in what I
know and in public speaking.

Applaud My Friends’ Successes. Learning to acknowledge and appreciate the successes of others
especially my classmates, makes you a good friend and a good person. It might even inspire others to do
the same for you. Since you can’t predict the successes of your friends, I think this goal is more open-
ended. Well overall goal, I will notice when my friends achieve their goals and I will say or do something
to congratulate them. Helping one another is better than to do it alone because not all the time you can
do everything alone, sometimes we need help from others just to achieve something.

Keep My Parents Informed

Once students reach college students, a lot of information sharing is left up to teens. Parents get some
communication from schools, but you can help your parents stay informed by making it a habit to share
your day with them. This provides you with an informed resource for school, your parents, and helps
you bond with them. And keeping them informed will help them not to be stress, worried and overthink
since they know what you've been doing. In this case they will sleep peacefully, working peacefully
knowing your doing great. They know your hardship and achievements in life. Commonly, I will keep my
parents informed of what’s happening at school throughout the entire school year and after school each
day, I will note important reminders, announcements, or events. One day per week, I will share these
notes with my parents at a family dinner. That's before but since we we're virtual now, my parents
knows everything.

I have a lot of goals but for now I will just enclude the important things.
What you hold dear and important in your life

-The Golden Rule Matthew 7:12

Do not do unto others what you do not want others do unto you. Simply put, this means you should
treat others the way you would like to be treated. If you don't want to be hurt, treated unfairly, or
ridiculed, don't do those things to other people.“do unto others as you would have done to you” treat
others as you want to be treated, etc. It allows me to sleep well at night with few regrets. It is, however,
important to remember that not everyone wants the same things, so this rule does not result in
everyone I encounter being pleased. It does result in everyone I meet being treated equally. Mark 12:31,
Luke 10:27 - "Love your neighbor as yourself..." These verses from the Bible, also known as the “Golden
Rule” Bible verses, issue an injunction that is among the highest, most beautiful things that religion has
to offer.
What you expect to happen in your life in about 10 years

-This question repeatedly ask everyone especially student, when I'm still in Elementary, Junior and High
School. And now that I'm a college students what will I expect to happen in my life in about 10 years
from now. I don't know my future only God knows but since this is expectations. My expectations is , I
can graduate and survive hardship during my college journey. And after that, find a job that can help my
parents, cousin, etc. financially. By this I will not regret everything because I know I did well. And also to
have a family and help to build or enhance our church using our first encome.
What ways, mechanisms, or strategies you should do to achieve your goal

-My mechanisms or strategy to achieve my goals is very simple. Do well, hardwork and love. Doing this
simple yet very difficult to do especially when you are in senario. But it will help you to achieve your
goals in life. Do well is very simple to read but hard to do especially when it's not your thing. But it will
help you to avoid less hardship because you know you do well. Hardwok, we all know if you're that
hardworking student then except that you grade is not the good also. Hardwork is something like you
have to sacrifice your time and happiness just to achieve your goals. And lastly love, doing everything
without love is nonesense for me. Because doing everything with love can satisfy you, can give
inspiration to others and most especially can inspired you to do well, to make it better and happier.
Doing it without hatred, your output will be nicer.
2. Examine each of the parenting styles. Discuss which among these styles will enable a child to
differentiate appropriate from inappropriate behaviors.
-To differentiate the appropriate and inappropriate behaviors rman so...

This is my examination

The appropriate behavior is being kind, polite, responsible, cleanliness mind and heart. While the
inappropriate behavior is like being rude, impolite, no respect and bad originality. Appropriate attitude
is when someone doesn't have an attitude towards things. Inapproximate attitude is when you have
negative attitude towards things.

Example: Your parents say to you, sit down amd you (as kid) does as what your parents said with no
attitude. That is appropriate behavior and inappropriate is when you do not obeying your parents
comands with negative behavior.

In other explaination.

Parenting styles refers to the combination of strategies being use to raise a children. According to Diane
Baumrinds work, there are four parenting styles namely:

*Authoritarian/Disciolinary

*Permissive or Indulgent

*Uninvolved

*Authorative

Authoritarian/Disciplinary

-For me from its root word authority simply means the use of strict disciplines style with little
negotiation. Punishment in this style is common

-this style would teach children on how to behave well, since it is more on disciplinary action. Most
rules are not explained
Permissive or Indulgent

-this style of parenting mostly the parents let their children do whatever they want and offer limited
guidance or direction.

-this style enable the children to act like friend relationship towards their parents because the discipline
style is opposite of strict. They have rules but it is limited.

Uninvolved Parenting

-it is a style of parenting where parents give a children lot of freedom and generally stay out of their
way.

-this style will pursue the children to do, to act whatever they wanted. Because there is no particular
discipline style being utilized.

Authoritative

-this style focuses on nurturing and setting clear expectations to a children. This style is thought to be
most beneficial to children.

-like disciplinary parenting style, this style is also good towards child's behavior. Disciplinary rules are
clear and the reason behind them are explained.

of yourself and your personality characteristics or

- My real self is brave, but sometimes emotional, and my real self is curious about everything and I
cannot understand faster about the situation that had been happened. I kind a like a slow type of
person. And my ideal self is to be more independent in any aspects as possible as it is. To be more
courageous, to be more confident and to become one of the inspiring students who had been in the
situation like me. Just like having self pity, uncomfortable of being alone and specially having a lack of
confidence to acknowledge that some people really don't like being with me. And one of my ideal self is
to be contented of anything that is only available nir things or people that would love to be with me. It's
not that I'm alone it doesn't mean no one cares for me. I need that ideal self of mine in someday I'll be
able to achieve to be more stronger inside and out.

and the like. Explain why you think he/she is self-actualized, and cite his/her contribution/s to society in
general. Present your output in class.

-According to my research, Firdausi Qadri, a seventy-year-old Bangladeshi, is one of the recipients of the
Ramon Magsaysay Award 2021. She is self-actualized in my perspective because she is professionally
engaged and personally appreciated, and she is a leader and facilitator of health intervention
organizations where everyone is individually committed to the broader corporate purpose. Dr. FIRDAUSI
QADRI was born into a middle-class family that valued education and job opportunities for women. She
opted early on to pursue a career in medical research, receiving a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and
a PhD from Liverpool University in the United Kingdom. Her most difficult assignments included
combating cholera and typhoid, two significant illnesses in Bangladesh and other Asian and African
nations. Dr. FIRDAUSI QADRI will be honored with the Ramon Magsaysay Award for her contributions to
vaccine development, biotechnology treatments, and life-saving research. She has worked as a scientist
in Bangladesh for almost forty years and has no plans to retire. She is concentrating her efforts on
improving laboratories so that Bangladeshi scientists do not have to travel overseas to do research.
