The Premier’s COFA Visual Arts Scholarship
will provide one visual arts teacher in NSW
with $15,000 in order to study at a respected
tertiary institution overseas, visit educational
institutions and/or consult with experts.
Applications are invited from teachers
in Government, Catholic or Independent
Schools and TAFE NSW institutes across New
South Wales for the 2011 Premier’s Teacher
Scholarships to undertake a five week study tour
in one of the available scholarship categories.
Generous sponsorship from various supporters
means the scholarships now encompass
English, special education, agriculture, rural and
remote education, youth depression awareness,
leadership, information and communication
technologies, science, mathematics, financial
literacy, early childhood, environmental education,
contemporary art, visual arts, indigenous
education, Chinese language, Australian
history, history, new and emerging technologies,
vocational education in schools and TAFE
colleges, personal development, health and
physical education.

Scholarships will close on Friday 6 May 2011. If
you would like assistance with your application
please contact the Premier’s Scholarships
Secretariat on (02) 9244 5096 or (02) 9266
8920. The secretariat will also be able to provide
assistance in identifying a subject specific critical
mentor for you to discuss your application.
Assistance is available to help applicants
prepare an application for a Premier’s Teacher
Scholarship. Teachers can register their interest
via My PL@DET, Course Code 151SPS011.
This DET course is registered professional
development under the terms of the NSW
Institute of Teachers Continuing Professional
Development policy. For teachers accredited at
Professional Competence, completion of this
course will contribute 7 hours towards Institute
Registered professional development. This course
will address the following Professional Teaching
Standards 1.2.2; 6.2.1; 6.2.7; 7.2.4.

Education in NSW and Visual Arts Teachers.
