Goal 1: Quality and Excellence


Equip the students with relevant knowledge and understanding, gainful skills and positive attitudes
essential for attaining needed learning facilitated by professionally qualified instructors with updated
instructional materials.
Objectives:
1. Upgrade the quality of teachers by making the faculty development program meet standards.
2. Strengthen in-service training program in all levels in the educational ladder and monitor application of
innovative strategies for the improvement of instruction.

Goal 2: Relevance and Responsiveness


Provide an atmosphere of caring and harmonious relationships in witness to Christian love, justice and
peace encouraging exposure to communities needing services, and availing of modern technology.
Objectives:
1. Support innovative programs which are relevant and responsive to human development.
2. Undertake educational innovations in the curricula to cope with the emerging needs and demands of
the Filipino people especially the poor, the deprived, the oppressed and the exploited.
3. Develop the learning capacity, leadership potentials and desirable attitudes and values in the exercise
of love, justice and peace through academic pursuits and co-curricular involvements.

Goal 3: Access and Equity


Poor but deserving students will be assisted to attain formal schooling through government scholarships
facilitated by the Private Education Assistance Council (PEAC) of Fund Assistance to Private Education
(FAPE).
Objectives:
1. Enable deserving students to participate in the ESC/Voucher Program of Government Assistance.
2. Provide opportunities to formal schooling to the children of ordinary working parents /benefactors by
charging reasonable fees to low-income families.

Goal 4: Efficiency and Effectiveness


Objectives:
1. Develop reasonable and systematic distribution scheme of funds and resources.
2. Budget appropriate to faculty remuneration and development, and for instruction take precedence
over other services.
3. Strengthen the human resource capabilities.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY

General Objective:
The Holy Infant College aims at giving its students a wholesome and comprehensive experience
of a happy and well-balanced Christian Education, which will enable them to become good and
responsible people of God and good citizens of the country.
The College of Nursing and Midwifery of Holy Infant College which offers Bachelor of Science in
Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, in line with school’s vision and mission envisions to
produce nurses and midwives who are professionally competent, imbued with Christian values
responsive to the health needs of the Filipino and of the world and responsible for their own
personal and professional development.

Specifically, the College aims to produce nurses and midwives who:


a. Possess scientific and technical competence to health care delivery in any health care setting.
b. Possess a caring behavior, needed in the care of patients of all ages, race and creed.
c. Demonstrate creative and critical thinking in making decisions involving client care.
d. Utilize research in improving, updating and finding new information and techniques in providing
nursing service to individuals and families.
e. Apply ethical, moral and legal principles in carrying out responsibilities related to patient care.
f. Possesses the ability to organize a community and establish linkages with government and non-
government agencies, individuals and groups for the individual patient’s and Community’s
development and solutions of its problems.
g. Is aware of trends, changes and development in nursing or midwifery, medicine and allied
professions, information technology and other areas which may influence health care delivery.
h. Show’s respect of God’s creation and sanctity of life by promoting life and advocating
environmental preservation.
i. Consider any experience as an opportunity to learn for personal and professional development.
j. Establish a smooth interpersonal and working relationships with other members of the health
team, patients, families and other significant persons, and the community.

Course Title: CARE OF MOTHER, CHILD AND ADOLESCENT (WELL CLIENTS)

Course Description: This course deals with concepts, principles, theories and techniques in the
nursing care of individuals and families during childbearing and
childbearing
years toward health promotion, disease prevention, restoration and
maintenance, and rehabilitation. The learners are expected to provide
safe,
appropriate and holistic nursing care to clients utilizing the nursing
process.

Course Credit: 3 Units


Placement: Second Year, First Semester
Pre-requisites: NCM 101, NCM 102, NCM 103

Level Outcomes:
At the end of the second year, given a normal and high risk mother, child, and
family in any health care setting, the students demonstrate safe, appropriate
and holistic care utilizing the nursing process.
