1. His Character
The Sameness of His Character
• Son of God
•

• Equates Himself with the Father and the Holy Spirit

• Infinite
•

• Colossians 1:17 - “And He is before all things, and in him all things hold
together.”
• Self-sufficient
•

• John 5:26 - “For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the
Son also to have life in himself.”
The Sameness of His Character
• Omnipotent (All-Powerful)
•

• Psalm 33:6 - “By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their
starry host by the breath of his mouth.”
• Omniscient (All-Knowing)
• Omnipresent (Everywhere)
•

• Psalm 139:7-8 - “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee
from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my
bed in Sheol, you are there!”
The Sameness of His Character
• Faithful

• 2 Timothy 2:13 - “If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot

deny himself.”

The Sameness of His Words
• John 1:1 - “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God.”
• Jesus’ Words remain true.
• Matthew 24:35 - “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not
pass away.”
• Warning to us:
• Hebrews 13:9 - “Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it
is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have
not benefited those devoted to them.”
The Sameness of His Words
• Be watchful and ask guidance from the Holy Spirit.
• 2 Timothy 4:3 - “For the time will come when people will not put up with
sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around
them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”
3. His Love
The Sameness of His Love
• His Love never fails.
• Lamentations 3:22-23 - “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his
mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your
faithfulness.”
• Malachi 3:6 - “I, the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob,
are not destroyed.”
• The Cross displays His Love for us.
• Ephesians 2:4-5 - “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love
with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us
alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved”
The Sameness of His Love
• John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
• Romans 8:35-39 - “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or
sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are
more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither
death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be
able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
