Nature here are the forms which God
took to reveal Himself for mankind to
have a grasp of who He is.

 God is One
Monotheism
• There is one God with 3 persons (Trinity)
• OT called him “Yahweh”.
Heresies concerning this nature.
• Polytheism – The Father, Son and Spirit are 3 gods.
• Subordinationism – Jesus Christ as lesser from God.

 God is One
Scriptures
• Deut 6:4 – “The Lord our God is one Lord”
• Isa 44:6 – “beside me there is no other God”.

 God is Spirit
He can’t be contained to a body.
• Anthromorphism – figures of speech attributing human
form to God.
• Psa 34:15 – The Lord has eyes and ears.
• Theophany – a visible manifestation of deity. Christophany

 God is Spirit

• John 4:24 – God is a Spirit: and they that worship him

The majesty of His Glory.
• 1 Jn 1:5 – This then is the message which we have heard

One of the most symbol of God in the Bible.

Ruler of His Kingdom.
• Psalm 47: 2,7 – “King of all the Earth”.

Executer of the Law. He can defend and condemned.
• Jepthah – Judge 11:27 – “May the Lord, the Judge”
• Psalm 75:7 – “But God is Judge”

lawgiver”

 God is Creator
God is the One through whom all things have come into
existence.
• Gen 1:1 – “God created”
• Psa 102:25 – “Laid:Earth, Work:Heavens”
• Heb 11:3 – “Framed”
The creation was created for the pleasure of the Creator.
• Rev 4:11 – “thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Attributes of God
Attributes are those characteristics or qualities
that belong to a specific person which in this
study is all about God.

Holiness
Central Attribute of God.
• Hebrew word “Qadosh – set apart”
• Moses – Exodus 3:5.
• Israelites – Lev 11:45, 19:2, 20:26
• Seraphims – Isa 6: 2-3
In a natural state, because of this Holiness, no man can
approach the incorruptible God.

Immutable
Immutable means never changing. He is the God of
then, now and forever.
• Mal 3:6 – “I change not”
• Jas 1:17 – “with whom is no variableness”
This attribute provides us a sense of guarantee.

Sovereign
God’s divine control over everything that happened,
happens and will happen.
• Life of Job
• Psa 115:3 – “He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased.”.
• Psa 135:6 – “Whatsoever the LORD pleased”.
• 1 Tim 6:15 – “ who is the blessed and only Potentate, the
King of kings, and Lord of lords”

Omnipotent
All Powerful.
• Promise of Isaac – Gen 18:14, “Is anything too hard for the
Lord.”
• Jer 32:17 – Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the
heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out
arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee

Omniscient
All Knowing of things then, now and to come.
• Job37:16 – “perfect knowledge”

Always present universally and simultaneously.
