The Community of Jehovah’s Witnesses and their Pamphlets

There are many communities around the world that have recognized themselves as

religious. One of those religions happens to be the group of Jehovah’s Witnesses. They use

booklets bought from The Watchtower society as a means of communication within their

community and others around their city or town; going as far as going from door to door to talk

to citizens about the word of their God. By using this booklet and other forms of brochures and

magazines, citizens will be able to know the way Jehovah’s Witnesses live and how they’re able

to get eternal salvation as mentioned by the Witnesses.

One of the main things that Jehovah’s Witnesses love to do is spread the word of their

God and kindly educate those who come their way. A way of achieving their goal is by going to

what they commonly refer to as their “missions” to recruit as many citizens as possible to try and

convince them to convert into Jehovah’s Witnesses, resulting in getting more members into their

church. By doing this, they often have to purchase many booklets and pamphlets from The

Watchtowers society to then hand out when they go from home to home. They often become

impoverished because of the thousands of pamphlets they have to buy with their own money in

order to give out to fully complete their missions with the best of their ability. As time

progressed, they began slightly changing their ways of delivering God’s word. They started

writing letters and began sending them out to as many citizens as they could. Because technology

has advanced so much throughout the years, they began incorporating phone calls into their

means of spreading God’s word and his teachings.

During the early 1900s, Jehovah’s Witnesses began traveling from door to door to teach

citizens about the word of their God and Jesus Christ as part of their core missions. They do this

because they believe it will allow for individuals to join their church, and like Jehovah’s

Witnesses, soon spread the word of their God to their friends and family to get more people to

join their religion. As stated in the Bible, first-century Christians continued to spread their

message both “publicly and from house to house.” (Acts 5:42; 20:20). If for some reason they

are not able to go from door to door to inform the public about their teachings, they use other

forms of informing such as phone, letters, informal witnesses, etc. Health problems or disabilities

do not stop them from enlightening others, because of how much they truly enjoy doing it. They

do this by going from home to home in pairs, a new member is usually always accompanied by a

veteran witness to learn how to properly teach the individual and get better as they grow. This

also allows for them to stay safer instead of going on their own. By doing this several times a

year, they are hopeful in recruiting more members into their church to then continue spreading

their teachings.

If the Jehovah’s Witnesses are successful in recruiting citizens from their designated city

or town, they will begin going to church to then listen to the pastor’s preaching. As this goes on

and they continue to participate in the church services and activities, they too will be asked to

begin their missions by going from door to door to deliver God’s message. The pamphlet

provided when they speak about the teachings holds all the necessary information that the

citizens need to know in order to join or become a member of the church as well as a few verses

from their Bible, The New World Translation of the Bible. This is something that is very

important to the Jehovah’s Witnesses because it states in the Bible, Jesus told his followers to

“make disciples of people of all the nations.” (Matthew 28:19, 20). The pamphlets that they pass

out to citizens contain important verses from their Bible that will guide one to God and to

achieve a better lifestyle. The reason why it is called The Watchtowers is so individuals can be

vigilant on signs of the prophecy and the return of Jesus Christ.

All in all, having The Watchtowers pamphlet is something that is very important to the

Jehovah’s Witnesses community. It is a form of written text that helps their way in trying to

communicate with others within the community, as well as individuals around their city or town.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses have always tried their very best to boost the number of individuals

who attend their church and begin the process of their missions by going from home to home to

enlighten those with the word of their God. Using the pamphlets that they provide, free of

charge, whilst doing the process of educating really helps the citizen understand why the

Jehovah’s Witnesses do what they do and hopefully open their eyes to what the Jehovah’s

Witnesses believe is an amazing world with their God.
