Task 1. Put the following sentences in order
1. On Tuesday, he harvests the ripe fruit.
2. Friday is his favorite day. He goes over to the apple tree to pick fruit
to sell at the farmers market.
3. Gardening is fun for Mr. Jones.
4. Mr. Jones loves to work in his garden and on Sunday morning, he
picks out the weeds.
5. On Monday, he rakes the soil and makes sure everything is watered.
6. When Thursday gets here, Mr. Jones plants some new seeds.
Task 2.
1. Tina goes to bed after dinner, she had such a busy day.
2. After a long day it 's finally time for dinner and Tina has an apple for
dessert.
3. Then she naps under her favorite tree, and when she wakes up, she
plays a game of tag with her brother Ling.
4. Tina has a very busy day over at the Zoo. Early in the morning, the
zoo keepers feed her sweet potatoes and bamboo.
5. After breakfast, she exercises by climbing trees. By lunch time, Tina
swings in a tree swing.
Task 3.
1. Ready, Set, Go! The race is under way. It looks like Sandra Love is in
the lead and there seems to be a fight for second and third place.
2. I don't think she'll be able to run in the next race.
3. The next day, the doctors said she has a fractured toe, and will be
unable to run for the rest of the season.
4. She collapses to the ground. It looks like the paramedics are rushing
out to the track.
5. Let's see the replay. She comes around and grabs her leg, and
down she goes.

6. Love seems to be unstoppable today. The rest of the runners are


fighting to keep up.
7. Three laps to go. Oh no, Love has seemed to be slowing down.
8. It looks like she may have a serious injury.
Task 4.
1. Then he put the key in the ignition
2. FIrst he entered the car
3. After that he started his engine
4. Finally, he drove off
5. Once the car started, he put his seatbelt on
6. He then put the car in gear and pressed the gas pedal
Task 5.
1. First, Michael sat at his desk and took a deep breath.
2. After this, he turned the lamp on, so he could see the equipment on
his desk.
3. He then wrote notes describing the diagrams.
4. He then sharpened his pencils and organised his pens.
5. Following this, he used the sharpened pencils to draw diagrams for
his homework.
6. Finally, he turned off his light, and went to bed.
Task 6.
1. By the time the bell rang at 3:30 to go home I had 200 signatures in
my yearbook.
2. I arrived early to make sure I got my yearbook before first period.
3. By the time I got my yearbook first period had already begun, but it
was well worth the wait.
4. Once I got my year book I raced to my first period class.
5. The line stretched from the cafeteria to the administration office.
6. The last day of school was filled with excitement and fear.

signing party would begin at 12 noon before lunch.

4. She then told the receptionist that she had arrived
5. The receptionist called out Kay's number
6. Finally, Kay went into the room where the doctor was waiting
Task 8.
1. First, he put a marshmallow on a long stick.
2. Kevin helped his father roast marshmallows on the campfire.
3. Finally, he removed the marshmallow from the fire and placed it
between two graham crackers and chocolate.
4. After a few minutes, he turned the marshmallow over.
5. Next, he held the stick so the marshmallow was just over the fire.
