Adaption

Aliza adapts well to new situations and circumstances. I remember that when she was relocated
to another building while she was working in MCB how easily she was able to learn the new
tasks at hand and also learned from her peers and colleagues.

Empowerment
A person who can empower others is the one who themselves are empowered. Aliza was made
the lead to supervise the external audit by KPMG that was done annually of MCB. She promptly
explained tasks to the stakeholders of different departments and delegated them efficiently.

Dedicated
Aliza is a dedicated worker. She was working as a freelance writer for an Australian client while
we were studying in university in undergraduate. At times the amount of assignments and
projects used to be burdensome and she was still able to manage the extra workload as a writer
while never compromising on her grades.

Empathy
She’s an emphatic friend. Once I got really sick while we were on our five-day batch trip and she
did not leave my side even for a second. She took care of me like a sibling would and I’m
forever grateful to her. She’s the one person who you can rely on and know for sure that she will
be there for you no matter what.

Aliza is a well-mannered and disciplined child of our family. She never indulged herself in
notorious activities even when she was very young and has grown up to be a mature adult who
knows her values and cherishes her relationship with family. Very few people are so appreciative
of the things they have but Aliza knows how to value the blessings around her.

Aliza is my older sister. She has been very supportive to me through all my phases of life. She
stays up to help me with projects and the concepts in which I have problem. She is also a good
counselor. She advised me on which subjects to opt for in O levels and devised a study plan for
me.

Although the time spent with her had been limited as she joined for MBA later, but it was
obvious that she was a resourceful person. She has an inquisitive nature and wanted to learn
more than it was needed to perform her job duties.
In the last year of university while doing bachelors, we were assigned social entrepreneurship
project in which we started a school in the outskirts of Kasur under the umbrella of “Shajr-e-
Umeed”. We raised funds for the school through sponsorships and within university by
organizing fund raising events. While doing all this we also decided to give lectures to these
children and every Friday for the entire semester, I was given the responsibility to teach them. It
was not an easy task as they were kindergarten students who were from a very diverse
environment. Communicating with children so young was difficult as they throw a lot of
tantrums and have very varying needs. Despite all this, I kept my calm and in teaching them
learned few things myself such as patience and the will to appreciate the blessings around me.

We had a media society at the university by the name of NUCES Media Group. I worked as a
journalist for the first 2 years and later became the Head of journalism. Every year we had a
mega event, “Media De Gala”, in which series of activities used to be planned. The year I
became the head, the university’s admin decided to limit the scope of the event as they were
short of funds. Now it was upon us to raise funds and make that year’s Gala a success. We made
proposals and went to different organizations with which the team members had any association
and presented them our proposal. The proposal was accepted by two food chains and one
organization enough for us to carry on with the event without tweaking the series of events
much.

I was working in MCB in the Internal Control of Consumer Banking Group. Few of my
responsibilities included developing controls and checks for the group and to make sure that the
stakeholders comply with them. The hierarchy was such that I reported to the manager who
directly reported to the Group Head. Every quarter a compliance report is officiated to the
Management Committee to check how many audit observations have been complied with. In the
second quarter of 2019, my boss had to take annual leaves due to his personal reasons and I was
left with the task to host the quarterly meeting where Group Head and other members of the
committee were present. The meeting went as planned where I showed them the audit
observations (both complied and yet to be complied) pertaining to Consumer banking. The result
was that the meeting presided as planned with positive reviews and my supervisor gave a good
appraisal and feedback to me.
