Introduction Time
How Many Canadian cities can you name? – Sticky notes
On a sticky note, students will have 1 min to see how many Canadian cities they can name.

Body Time
Summer in Review (15 mins) 50 mins
Go through Summer in Review ppt.

Mapping Canada Activity (15 mins)


Students will complete the mapping Canada Activity

Over Canada Viewing Companion (30 mins)

Students will watch the documentary “Over Canada” on YouTube. As they watch the film, they will
complete the Viewing Companion as well. We will not be watching the whole documentary so here are the
time stamps:

2:22 Atlantic Canada/the Maritimes


15:48 Central Canada
29:11 Western Canada/the Prairies
36:24 Far North/Territories
41:47 West Coast (British Columbia)
Watch about 5 mins of each. After each region, pause, summarize some of the characteristics of the
geography on the board, and continue.
Both the Viewing Companion and the Mapping Canada Activity will be due at the end of the period.
