CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

The conceptual framework above explains the different factors contributing to the
Experiences of Online ukay-ukay business owners, as well as how they interconnect and interact with
each other. Online presence dictates how visible a online business is to the digital world, and how the
business interacts with their customers thru the internet. The factors here are site/page accessibility,
advertising, customer care service, and responsiveness. These are in turn, affected by another set of
factors that are driven by demand from the population, which may drive more or less people to
purchase certain goods from the business.

Method of selling is where the business decides which platform to use for making transactions with
their customers, such as live selling, facebook/instagram pages, or thru shopee/lazada. These
platforms are still connected to the internet, thus all of the factors of Online presence still apply here.
These methods must rely on a delivery method to satisfy their customers, and this is where Delivery
methods come in.

Delivery methods is how a business would satisfy their customer’s demand. The two most common
types of delivery: Remote delivery, wherein the business would use a 3 rd-party courier service to
deliver their goods to their customers, and pick-up, wherein the customer would pre-order, and then
pick up their purchased goods in a mutually agreed-upon location. Regardless which of these options
were used, both methods are still vulnerable to the effects of delivery errors and mistakes; Remote
delivery parcels may be sent to the wrong location, or lost/stolen in transit. Pick-ups may become
jeopardized when one or both parties encounter complications along the way to the pick-up location.
Any of these errors in delivery will affect the business in one way or another, resulting in loss of sales
and wasted assets.
