Midterm Examination

Essay
In my understanding, long-term buildings with limited resources indicate that to have a
lasting structure - there is a need for an ample supply of materials. Durable material is created
with the use of different resources coming from nature. The demand for it is high since the long-
term structure is ideal for most of these sources become limited. To make it worse, it has
deteriorated. On the other hand, short-term buildings with unlimited resources mean the
structure is not a lifetime. And the materials needed for it is not much as well. I stand to the side
of short-term buildings with unlimited resources. I believe that there is no permanent thing in the
world, and change is inevitable. No matter how hard we, humans, try to make a "perfect"
structure, it will lose its strength over time. Even in nature, it is evident that there is no
permanence. Our ignorance of this fact cause distraction to our very home, the earth. As we try
to find the perfect material for our perfect structure, we harm the environment, consuming
almost everything. Our environment is much important than the structure we make. We benefit
greatly from these resources; from the food we eat to the air we breathe. I would like to treat
structures like us, humans. We live in a certain time and accept that there is an ending same
goes with the buildings. Let them stand tall for a while and take that there will be a downfall for
them as well.
