New Features
Modules

EHD

47760 - EHD Elem ent 'Elasto-Hydrodynam ic Bearing' new Output Value 'Oil pressure'

A new Output Value 'Oil pressure' w as introduced for all design elements using the 'Oil flow ' Output Value.

Wizard

47845 - Param eter table cells excessively large

The default sizing mechanism for cells in parameter tables w ould generate a layout w ith cells being much higher and w ider than
w ould be required for show ing the cell content.
This issue w as introduced w ith Simpack 2017 and the behavior is now restored to the same correct cell sizing that w as used in
Simpack 9.10.

Fixed Issues
General

Licensing

47825 - Prim itive 39 'CAD Interface' not usable w ithout catsim license

Since Simpack 2018, using the Primitive 39 'CAD interface' w ould alw ays accidentally require a catsim license.
Fixed now .

47933 - Academ ic licensing not w orking w ith tokens

The solver w ould complain about missing licenses and not start w hen academic licensing w as used w ith tokens. Fixed now .

Modules

Contact

47584 - Potentially incorrect results of Force Elem ent 199 'Polygonal Contact (PCM)' on flexible Bodies

If for a Force Element 199 'Polygonal Contact (PCM)' "height correction" w as enabled and one or both of the contact partners w as
changed to a flexible Body, then the height correction parameter correctly disappeared but if it w as set, then the height correction
w ould be used nevertheless. How ever for flexible Bodies this functionality is not yet supported and delivers incorrect results.

Fixed now such that the height correction is disabled for flexible Bodies.

DoE

47769 - DoE only w orking for SubVars from m ain m odel

DoE configurations using SubVars from SubVar files or from submodels w ould not w ork as expected:

1/4
DoE configurations using SubVars from SubVar files or from submodels w ould not w ork as expected:
The SubVars w ould not be varied as specified but remain constant as in the original definition.
Configurations based on SubVars defined directly in the main model w ould w ork as expected.
This issue has been resolved.

EHD

47524 - Loads output for EHD Elem ent 'Elasto-Hydrodynam ic Bearing' potentially incorrect

The forces/torques computed and applied by the EHD element w ere different for normal results processing compared to the Loads
process. This w as the case w hen using the 'Multiple surface Markers' method. This issue resulted in a different dynamic behavior
in subsequent post processing steps.
This error w as fixed. Calculation results might change slightly.

47747 - EHD design elem ents considered incorrectly in som e cases

Under certain alignments of EHD surface geometries and design elements, the design elements w ere not handled correctly. It
could occur that

mass flux boundary conditions w ere not applied at all or in a w rong fashion
oil flow output values w ere w rong
friction calculation on pressure boundary conditions w as slightly w rong

Fixed now .

Loads

47834 - Stress and strain recovery failing for stress files w ithout eigenm ode stresses

When trying to export stresses or strains for a Body referencing a stress file that did not contain any eigenmode stresses, the
export w ould fail w ith an error message.
Fixed now .

Post

47384 - Missing text in graphics bitm ap export

Sometimes the bitmap and pdf export w ould lack diagram text fragments in the exported images. This issue occurred in Simpack
Pre and Post. Fixed now .

47868 - Rendering of SIMBEAM Bodies incorrect w hen shaders active

The rendering of flexible Bodies of type "SIMBEAM" w as incorrect and show ed strange artifacts w hen shaders w ere activated.
This has been fixed.

47891 - Incorrect near clipping plane

The near clipping plane w as incorrectly positioned if it's computation w as set to "auto". This could cause geometry that is hidden
by other geometry to be visible. It could also cause poor animation performance especially for animations containing long railw ay
tracks or roads.
Fixed now .

Pre

47633 - Models from Sim pack 9.9 loaded incorrectly w hen containing Body 'Groups' w ith flexible Bodies

Simpack 9.9 models w ith flexible bodies, w hich w ere contained in body groups, w ere not correctly loaded in Simpack 2017.1 or
2017.2. Saving such a model in Simpack 2017.1 or 2017.2 led to a corrupted model. These models are now correctly loaded and

2/4
can be saved w ithout corrupting the model.

Rail

47756 - Issues for Measurem ents w ith variable rail profiles

For Measurements w ith models w ith variable rail profiles tw o issues existed:

during Measurements, memory w as used excessively (Gigabytes of memory for generating a result file w ith a few
Megabytes)
if for the Measurements a start and end time w as configured, w hich w as different to the Time Integration start and end time,
an error w ould occur and no result file w as generated

Both issues have been fixed now .

Solver

47873 - Measurem ent of im plicitly created u-Vector elem ents crashes

Solver crashed during Measurements if

model contains Connections, Constraints or Joints w ith driven motion directions directly referencing an Excitation w ith not all
u-Vector elements assigned and
u-Vector measurements are enabled in the Solver Settings.

Fixed now .

Wizard

47396 - Com m ents not displayed com pletely in tooltips of param eter table

In the Wizard Parameter Table, the tooltips that w ould appear w hen hovering the mouse over a cell in the table w ould not display
the comments completely. Fixed now .

47398 - Modifying param eters of a copied loadcase leading to 'internal error'

For a loadcase set containing tw o loadcases of identical type, editing the second loadcase w ould lead to:

an error message w hen trying to change a parameter

a crash w hen trying to rename the loadcase

Fixed now .

47400 - Im possible to renam e loadcase w ithout crash

When trying to rename items in the "Test" tab's "Scenario Tree" a crash w ould occur. This w as the case for both Loadcases and
Loadcase Sets already having Loadcases assigned.
Fixed now .

47450 - Model copied w ithin developm ent level not retaining correct param eter values

Wizard models copied w ithin the same development level in the Wizard model tree w ould have parameter values different to the
model that w as used as a source for the copying. Fixed now .

47551 - Status filter in Build tab producing w rong results

When changing the status filter value in the parameter tree or in the parameter table, parameters that did not match the filter w here
sometimes show n. Clicking on one of those parameters could lead to error messages.
Now the status filter w orks correctly again.

3/4
47562 - Crash w hen trying to delete copied project branch

When trying to delete a project branch in the "build" tab that w as created through copying, the Wizard w ould crash. Fixed now .

47608 - "Select file" not w orking in Sim pack Wizard

When trying to assign a file to a parameter in the Wizard GUI, the "Select file" dialog w ould not show any files for selection even
though according files w ere present on the file system.
Fixed now .

47861 - Param eter table cell selection not w orking as expected

The follow ing issues existed w ith parameter tables:

the context menu for a selected SubVar w as not accessible

selecting multiple parameters via SHIFT+CURSOR did not w ork
from a selected parameter, keyboard navigation to other parameters using CURSOR up/dow n/left/right did not w ork
selecting a w hole parameter table column or row for copying did not w ork

All these issues w here related to the underlying core issue that upon selection of a parameter, the according table cell w as
automatically sw itched to edit mode.
To re-enable all these capabilities, the Parameter table cell selection w as sw itched back to the follow ing behavior:

Single click - Select mode

Double click - Edit mode
Keyboard input - Edit mode

47915 - 'Reset to Inherited' and 'Edit Status' not honoring m ulti-selection

When multiple SubVars w here selected in the Parameter Table and one of the context menu actions 'Reset to Inherited' or 'Edit
Status' w as performed, then this action w as incorrectly only applied to the last selected SubVar and not to all SubVars.
Now the context menu actions are applied to all selected SubVars.
