IRITIS

Assalamualaikum wr.wb
Good afternoon everyone! Today, I’m going to do a presentation about Iritis. The
purpose of my presentation is to give information about iritis, the cause, the symptoms and
diagnose. My presentation will probably last about 3 minutes so please just hang in there because
it wouldn’t take so long.
Okay, so have you ever experienced a red painful eye that became extremely sensitive to
bright light? Well if yes, maybe you have had iritis.

So, what is actually Iritis? Iritis or anterior uveitis is inflammation of your iris, the
colored part of your eye. Usually, iritis comes on quickly and most often affect only one eye but
it can affect both eyes too.
The cause of iritis is often unknown. Sometimes, it’s tied to eye trauma or other health
conditions, such as injury from burns, infections from bacteria, parasites, fungus and reaction to
medications. You might be more likely to get iritis if you smoke tobacco or if you have certain
genetic disorders.
If you ever experienced Iritis, you’re gonna have a red eye especially around your iris. It
can be painful and tearing. You can have descreased vision from it and you may also have a very
high sensitivity to bright lights.
“So if I have those symptoms, how do I treat it?”
I’m not going to tell you some medications for Iritis because I believe it depends on your
doctor’s diagnose. So, I suggest you to call your doctor or go to the hospital immediately. And
the doctor will ask about your symptoms and your medical history, including whether you have a
condition that can cause iritis. They’ll also do some examinations such as visual acuity test,
pressure readings, and penlight and slit lamp exams. If your doctor suspects that another health
problem is causing your iritis, they might order blood tests, imaging tests, or tests of the fluid
inside your eye.
So, to sum up, Iritis is inflammation of your iris which usually affect only one eye that
makes you experience a red painful eye that is very sensitive to bright light. The cause of Iritis is
often unknown but sometimes it’s because of eye trauma or other health conditions. You should
call your doctor or go to the hospital if you experienced such as that symtomps to prevent it from
getting worse.
Okay, I think that’s the end of my presentation. If you have any question, I’d be very
happy to answer.
Thank you for your attention!
