HYBRID CLOUD COMPUTING
¿What is it?
Hybrid cloud computing is clearly on its way – and by some accounts is already there –
to being the dominant cloud computing model. It shares the cloud spotlight, so to
speak, with public cloud computing, with leading vendors such Amazon, Microsoft,
Google, IBM, and a host of other firms. The private cloud is essentially a firm's on-
premises data center systems, configured more in the manner of the public cloud than
traditional data center setup. Private cloud leverages virtualization and automation to
pool and optimize resources.
Gartner defines a hybrid cloud computing as a cloud service that is composed of some
combination of private, public and community cloud services, from different service
providers. The hybrid cloud is the most widely-used choice for cloud services among
enterprise IT firms for a variety of key reasons, all of which center around flexibility and
scalability. Furthermore, the hybrid cloud is a good fit with the expanded functionality
of Platform as a Service, or PaaS. For help decided which type of cloud service to use
for your business, read our comprehensive guide to cloud computing.
CLOUD PROVIDERS

COMPANY “IBM”
International Business Machines Corp. is a US multinational technology and consulting
company headquartered in Armonk, New York. IBM manufactures and markets
computer hardware and software, and offers infrastructure services, Internet hosting,
and consulting in a wide range of areas related to computing, from central computers to
nanotechnology.
EXAMPLES OF COMPANIES THAT USE HYBRID CLOUD
Coca-Cola:
This company has the characteristic of being a hybrid cloud because it has a public
cloud, in which the resources of the cloud (such as servers and storage) are owned by
IBM, which allowed to standardize and automate operations, and has optimized and
streamlined the order management and distribution processes of Coca Cola.
On the other hand, we have the private cloud of Coca Cola, which has the same
characteristics as the public cloud, but it is exclusive, guaranteeing the control and
security of critical data.
In conclusion, the hybrid cloud of Coca Cola, of which IBM is a provider, uses the
resources of the public cloud to increase the capacity of a private company in times of
high consumption of broadband and thus does not have to migrate to the cloud
services when there is critical information.
Business adoption of the hybrid cloud continues to gather momentum: about 68% of
technology professionals said, their companies are using or considering the hybrid
cloud, according to a 2016 Tech Pro Research survey. And 99% predicted that some of
the their systems and applications would be based on the cloud in the next five years.
In a recent survey of 451 Research, to technology professionals who best describe
their hybrid strategy. 36% said they dynamically moved workloads in the most
appropriate IT environment in terms of cost, performance, security, data sobriety and
other requirements, while 31% said that we use local resources mainly for Workloads
exist, and use IaaS, public. Or hosted clouds for new workloads. Meanwhile, 27% said
they executed internal business and data systems in the facilities, while business
systems focused on public networks.
"Companies are looking for multiple execution locations both on-site and off-site," said
451 research analyst Carl Lehmann. "They understand the different characteristics of
each place of execution (cost, performance, security, intellectual property problems,
control over the infrastructure) and then assign the workloads to the best place of
execution."
However, there are many organizations that work in the hybrid cloud. Here are five
common mistakes that should be avoided when developing a hybrid cloud strategy.
