QN:GIVE A BRIEF ACCOUNT ON WELDING GOGGLES.
INTRODUCTION:
Welding goggles: Are the specialized tools or equipment for eyes
protection during welding process.
These equipments can be classified into two categories thus are:
 Direct vented goggles
These are the types of goggles which allow the direct flow of air into the goggles.

 Indirect vented goggles:

These are the types of goggles which provide protection from splash
entry by a hooded or covered vent. The main function of the covered vent
is to limit the amount of splash or liquid entering the
goggle.(jeffus.L.F.>2011).
 Non-vented goggles.
These are the goggles which have no vented and only can offer the
protection against the passage of dust, liquid, mist and others which can
reach the eyes direct.(Black.B.J.>2010).
Non-vented goggles most are useful in the process involving chemicals
mixing processes.

NOTE: most of welding goggles are designed with glass lenses and
plastic.
Reason; To ensure that all sparks produced during welding could not
reach eyes direct and the eyes remained safe all over.
Shortly consider the picture below which shows the
welding goggles.
IMPORTANCE OF THE WELDING GOGGLES.
The main importance of welding goggles is to protect eyes from splashes
and sparks produced during the welding processes and other activities
which can impart the effect to our eyes like; chemical mixing etc.

USES OF WELDING GOOGLES:

Welding goggles are usefully in the following areas such as:
 Chemicals industries.
 In Workshop practices.
 Also in any areas for welding in any activities which is dangerous for
health and safety of eyes.
COMMENT:
The welding goggles are important in all activities of
welding and any activities which are dangerous to our
eye’s health and safety.
It is advised that wear the safety goggle before you
perform any welding activities so that you will be
protected from ultraviolet rays, and from the metal
particles which may harm the eyes.
