CBA-CSC TRAINING AND ACTION PLANNING

The Student Council of College of Business and Accountancy conducted
a leadership training and action planning for the second semester of this
school year 2020-2021, last December 19,2020. It was participated by the
College Student Council for the S/Y 2020- 2021.The leadership training was
headed by our CSC-Adviser Ms. Margie Martinez as well as Mr. Ryan
Dematera our former CSC-Adviser.

The training started at 9:35 in the morning and ended at 4:30 in the
afternoon with these agenda: (1) Roles and Obligations of each student
council; (2) Standard format of proposal, resolution and letters; (3)
Promotion of the second semester enrollment; (4) Planning of activities for
the second semester. In terms of Roles and Obligations, the first one that
was tackled was the Legislative positions (which pertains to the 1st-4th year
representatives) and their roles and obligations is to accept the fact that
they are the ones who will represent and who will raise the concerns of their
year level. Also, they are in charge of the resolution such as budgetary
requirement and part of their task/duties is to set rules and regulations in
the student council. When it comes to the fourth-year representative, he/she
will be the house of representative and in legislative positions, it is important
to build self-confidence and communication skills. In terms of Executive
positions, it started with the position of Business Manager which is in charge
of managing the office (inventories), accountable for everything that is
inside the student council's office, in charge of buying goods and other
things that is needed in the office. It is important for Business Manager to be
strict if needed. Next is Public Relations Officer, this is in charge of
information dissemination, promotion of activities of the department or
institution, in charge of posting every after the event. Also, it is his/her duty
to make sure that the content of every post is clear and can be understood
by the students and the consistency of design is really important in posting.
When it comes to the position of Auditor, he/she is responsible for keeping
all the receipts, in charge of auditing the budget and receipts every after the
event and it is his/her duty to always keep in mind the so-called "three-day"
rule. For the position of Treasurer, this is in charge of the collection of
Student Activity Fund (SAF), accountable for receipts, in charge of forms
when it comes to money matters and in charge of keeping the passbook
updated. Treasurer and Auditor are known to be partners and they must
know how to become strict when it comes to releasing money. Next is the
position of Secretary which is in charge of organizing files such as the
outgoing and incoming files, in charge of narrative report every after the
event, in charge of organizing the meeting place in a conference set up.
He/she must learn how to make letters and proposals and in making
proposal, it is important to make sure that it is as if you are telling a story of
what will happen on a certain activity. Also, it is his/her responsibility to
always keep the logbook updated for the information dissemination of the
P.R.O and the minutes of the meeting should always be encoded. Secretary
should be the one to relay the information to Governor or Vice-Governor. For
the position of Vice-Governor, this is in charge of updating the legislative.
He/she will be the one to represent the department in every student leader
meeting. Vice-Governor is the one who is assisting the Governor and the one
who must learn to contradict the Governor sometimes, if necessary. When it
comes to the position of Governor, it is his/her responsibility to always make
sure that there is no student council officer that is being left behind. He/she
must help improve each student leader. Governor is responsible for all the
things that involves the council.

Another thing that was discussed during the leadership training was
the proper formatting of the proposal and resolution. The third agenda was
the promotion of enrollment in which the student council will be proposing a
simple yet creative activity together with the students, faculty and dean,
where in the video promotion is just like the videos that became on trend
recently and has been circulating on social media. It's like the so-called
"pass the message" through a video. The fourth or the last agenda centers
on action planning that primarily focuses on the calendar of activities which
will start on January 2020. The first week of January is scheduled for the
change of signatory (c/o the CSC-Governor - Ms. Angelika Bea, Former Dean
- Mr. Adrian Ongog and the new CBA-Dean - Ms. Lorence Aster Pellejera).
January 4 will be the start of enrollment. January 11 will be the meeting with
CSC, Org. Presidents and CORE. January 18 will be the resume of classes for
the second semester. In the first week of classes, there will be "A day in the
life" of student and faculty that will be posted on the CBA fb page (which will
have a 3 days gap in every posting). January 22 will be the General
Assembly through facebook live and in January 23, there will be photoshoot
of the candidates for the pageant. For the last week of January, there will be
another planning for the upcoming events for next month. For the month of
February, the most awaited event will be held and that is the CBA Week
2021. There will be a shoot for pageant (as part of the CBA week) on 8 th day
of February. The tentative date for the entire CBA week will be on February
15-19 with the theme: "Resilient CBAeans: Embracing the silver lining
amidst pandemic". February 15-19 will be filled of different activities
including both academic and non-academic games, webinar, and on
February 19, the student council will have a community extension for kids
(5-7 years old) at Milaor and the target participant will be 30 kids. The event
chair for the entire CBA week will be Mr. Ryan Matandac (CSC-Vice
Governor) together with Ms. Angelika Bea (CSC-Governor).
